    Dream big Sydney and Jared!

Barny is definitely up there with some of the worst. What about Caiou? Just his voice sends shivers down my spine.

Emily gets to watch one hour of cartoons before bed, if she makes it that long. I usually turn them on sat and sun mornings when it's raining, but she hauls all of her toys out and plunks down in the middle of the living room and would rather play with her little people and weebol wobble tree house. I swear the best thing invented are those paint pens by crayola. Hours of entertainment, and even if they end up on the walls they come right off.

We go camping so she is out side basically from 9 am until 7pm on the week ends. She'll be 3 in August, so she hasn't decided what she wants to do when she grows up yet, but she does want to be bigger so she can pick up dog poop. Go figure.

Funny how they want to do big people things until they're big enough to do them. ;)

One of Jared's chores is to pick up the dog poop in the yard. He's actually really good about it, does it every day in the summer, in the winter, not so much, can't blame him though.

Sydney is responsible for emptying the dishwasher and clearing the table.

They have other chores, but those are the two that help me out the most.

We love camping, have a tent trailer and hope to upgrade to a 20' trailer this year or next. The tent trailer is just too small for 2 adults, 2 kids and three dogs (will probably only be 2 by the end of the year :(). Also, putting up the trailer and taking it down, not having easy access to the stuff stored inside, it's a pain. Tent trailers are great for younger people, we've outgrown it in more ways then one.

Sydney's birthday is also in August. August 26 to be exact. When's Emily's big day?

Her's is August 21st. Close. I have a tent trailer, I bought it for $100 off kijiji. I also have a 5th wheel. I love it. I just re finished the furniture in it. Here are some pics before the furniture was re done.

    I'm jealous.

We can't get a fifth wheel, R's truck is a Chevy Avalanche, you can't get a fifth wheel hitch that will work with it. I drive a mini van, definitely not fifth wheel compatible. ;)

We're looking for a trailer, 20' would be nice, the cheaper the better. I have no problem refinishing anything in it, flooring, furniture, counter tops, whatever. Not that easy to find though. I've found a few that are under $3000, but they're all really old. I'm worried that the age will have an impact on how well they are maintained, roof leakage, propane problems, whatever.

Do you have after pictures, because the before pics are pretty nice, I can't imagine what the after pics look like. :)

    |I will have some after on Sunday. I'll make sure to send them to you. I took out that lone chair, it opens it up a lot more. I know it doesn't look like it in that picture but the click flooring was bubbling (just a hint, don't bother putting in click flooring on ANY trailer if you do get an older one). I put linoleum, and carpet.

There were a few marks on the far right side of the wall, so I put border around and got new curtains made. I know that it look immaculate, but when you were up close it had small flaws, and I had a lot of spare time on my hands over the winter. I just did a piece at a time.

Honestly I paid less than $3,000 for mine, it is a 2000. Do you guys have a seasonal camp or will you be hauling it each week end? Some of the older ones are much roomier and really well kept. You got to look for older owners ;)

When we camp we haul from place to place, no seasonal spot. I'd love a fifth wheel but we're not willing to buy a new truck in order to have one. R's truck is almost paid off. ;)

I'd love one with a pull out, it really makes a huge difference in space. I'd settle for one without though.

You really got a great price for a very nice newer trailer. Lucky girl. I guess I just have to keep looking and hoping to stumble on a deal.

The one I found yesterday was $3200, a 24.5' trailer, no pull out, no upgrades inside, 1977. I thought that was a great deal, but yours is much better. ;)

Mine was luck. Pure luck and nothing more. Happened to belong to a very close family member, who bought an actual camp and wanted to sell the trailer. At first I knew I could never afford it, but they came down... way down in price. It was an offer I couldn't refuse.

I like going from place to place too. That's why I kept my tent trailer. Me and Emily are going to be doing some traveling to PEI this summer.

Mine has a slide, as you can see, and you won't believe the difference it makes. I love all the room.

Where have you been looking for the trailers?

I've been doing the usual searches, Kijiji, autotrader, the paper. I've found a few great deals but I'm either too late or the trailer is too heavy for us to pull. I found one that was a steal, had a play area for the kids (separate room in the back along with bunk beds), but it was way too heavy for R's truck. It also had two pull outs, was fairly new, only used once, 32', they were asking $5000. I cried about that one. ;)

I had a hell of a time finding my tent trailer, but it was OLD and needed a lot of repair done to the canvas. I just started doing the repairs, when the 5th wheel feel into my lap.

That's the only downfall with the big trailer, way too heavy for me to move. And even if I had the truck to move it, I probably wouldn't feel comfortable driving with it. Luckily my parents own some land where they have a cottage, so I was able to move my trailer out there.

Bella, we're totally hijacking my thread. I don't care, but someone else might. :(

Want to move this to the chit chat area?

    I'll race you there! :)

Before I was a mom I used to be able to go to the bathroom with the door closed.

Before I was a mom... I was normal. ( I think) Now, I FREAK out and worry over the smallest of things. Before I was a mom, I didn't notice pee around the toilet seat.

I suck at being a mom to teens.

But I think I was a great mom when they were small.

Bella, I can close the door and they STILL open it up.

I bet you are a great mom! You have a wonderful sense of humor. I bet you keep them ont heir toes as much as they do to you. Ya my door doesn't close all the way, so E just kicks it open and in comes her and the dogs. And they all sit there and stare at me. Maybe looking for an encore? Not sure.

Before I was a Mom.. I didn't worry when I heard the sound of an ambulance and sirens. After I became a mom when my kids are out that sound terrifies me.

Before I was a mom I didn't know you could remove gum from the carpet with ice cubes. Before I was a mom I didn't know the indescribable love your heart feels when you hold your child.

I still freak out at the sound of an ambulance... my son is 27 and lives 10 miles away.

I still think "Oh God! Is he on his way here, what if that was him?":(

It's a sick thing that will never leave you.

It is a worry.. Even now when I'm watching a news bulletin about a car accident.. I pray.. Lord don't let it be one of my children. I don't think there is an age when you don't worry about them. When my son was in Afghanistan every time the phone rang late at night.. I would literally be in a panic.

Synnen.. Bless you.. It will happen.. I know it will.. You are just so kind and giving and it makes me angry to see these people who treat their kids so badly and they keep having them and mistreating them. You deserve children and I know in my heart you are going to be a parent someday... I know it. Blessings:)

Meh... It'll happen or it won't. I'm blessed regardless.

Just pointing out that with all the heart-stopping, pull-your-hair-out moments that come with being a mother, it's still a pretty wonderful thing :)

It is. When their babies you want to eat them up and sometimes when their in their teens, you wish you had. You'll know that joy... :)
