Here Chery... I will be making zuccini bread tomorrow... ;)
Your story about your new friend reminded me of something... not as scary as cancer... but I got to share it with you. (Oh, and good for you to shine down through the clouds for this girl... GOOD FOR BOTH OF YOU:))
I was at BestBuy... in the Geek Squad line, my puter crashed and it needed to be fixed, so I stood there in line, a few minutes passed and a girl came in and sat in one of the chairs available... (the lines are really long sometimes or the wait for just one person could make sore feet) Any way, she was sitting there and all of a sudden, her face was in her hands and she was crying. I couldn't help but to tell the guy "just a sec" when he motioned me to come up to the counter... I went to the girl and it turned out (after letting person after person go in front of me in my spot LOL) it turned out she lost every single thing on her computer, she didn't save her College homework to her disk, she just trusted her computer to be good... she lost it all, everything she had done for the year. That was devastating enough, she still needed to pay to get her puter fixed and she just couldn't believe it all, it hit her and it hit her hard right there... But, with my tissues in hand and my hand on her leg rubbing it to give her some comfort, she started smiling, knowing she could prevail. I hugged her and we left each other. I just know that if I was crying, I would like to have someone just come up and tell me that they care... we need that as human beings, we need to know that we care about each other.
I care about you Chery and what you do to my heart is unexplained... I don't really think you need an explanation anyway, you know what love is and you know what it isn't. Lots of soft hugs, and I will get you that bread one way or another;)

Alty... thank you for being such a wonderful daughter to your mother;) I am proud of you.
Good lessons learned in that story, and I thank you for them:)

Alty my darling, send me a picture of your mom so that I can recognize her when my time has come. We will both share a lot of quality, painless, time together, I'm sure. The hard part is the ones we leave behind. I worry about their future and not being able to be there for them. In the material sense, I know Jaime will be OK because her man is well off and will inherit a lot of land from his parents, but there is nothing we can do about how this entire world is changing and what the future has in store - that scares me a lot.

Now is the time, more than ever before in the past years, for families to reassess their values and importance of loving and nurturing their children, and unfortunately I see so many families just splitting up and 'doing their own thing' while neglecting the basic family ties that should be there.

You all have given me more strength and innovation to keep going and spreading the message of this most important asset - family and love for your fellow human beings - just reaching out without ulterior motives other than sharing comfort if nothing else. You, my darling have such a big heart and deserve the love and caring back two-fold.

Startover - boy my miss you message really got to you on that special 'wave' we have that reaches across the ocean. Can't wait for that bread of yours. It comforts me to know that we still don't need many words between us to communicate as our friendship is still as strong as it will ever be. Hope you and the kids are doing fine and hope you will update me sometime soon.

Friend, I'm glad that Alexander does not have a cat allergy because Manx now has a special place on the pillow with Larry and me. I thought of getting a bigger pillow, but the one I have is just right - softness on both sides and lots of purring - what more can an old gal like me ask for. When Larry has his arm around me, his paw is on Manx, and he does not extend his claws, so that tells you a lot.

Well, it's 6 AM here, and I've been up all night (again). So, now I'm going to get some rest, wait for delivery of my new pen-point (for my graphic tablet pen) so that I can 'play' with my graphic program and work on some pictures for the puzzles. WACOM is a great company but their 'parts' cost a lot. I ordered the pen points (5 in a pack) they cost 10 Euro, well after ordering, paying tax, shipping and handling, they wind up costing 22.99 Euro - what a difference. I want to get a new one soon, the Bamboo One Model from the same company - they have the best graphic tablets and I already told my uncle to get his grandkids a tablet and two pens for Christmas - they were just so surprised to use something more accurate and easier than a computer mouse. Once you've tried one, you'll never want to see a mouse again.

OK, as I said before, time for some rest..

Try this, I went a little further, but not a member, only got this putting practice screen.

I like MiniGolf.. don't have to walk too far and more colorful. Had a great time when bored at midnight in California, went to the minigolf place and had some fun with all the pretty lights.

Yup, still a kid at heart.

Just in case it didn't get through to the entire world yet, I am now again a proud Mother-In-Law!
On Monday, 29 September 2008, Alexander's Mom and Dad were married by his Grandfather in Missouri, on the terrace of their home. I guess there is an advantage in having a Preacher in the family.

Naturally, I will let you all know more, and post pictures once I get them. I dreamed and it was also confirmed that Alexander had a great time driving a golf cart around his grandfather's property - making everyone dizzy, but not bad for a two-year old - that's my boy!

Ironic, but after being nervous and anxious to see them again for almost a week, I have a new cold with fever and will probably be flat on my *ss this weekend - wouldn't you know it.... Oh, well, stuff happens.

I am just so relieved that they all made it back safe. Now it's paperwork time, getting all their IDs and other documents changed - and it's back to work on Monday.

So, now that my worries in that department are over, I think I might be able to get some rest for a few hours.

    OK, here's the rant first.
Yesterday and today, I spent all the time 'fixing' my laptop with Vist from a crash... naturally, I lost all my pictures, film clips, dictionaries, and had to reinstall most of my games (which I had already maxed and now have to start all over again from the beginning. After that, it decided to upload over a million updates for Vista, the computer software manufacturer (those apps which I uninstalled wound up back on and I had to try and get rid of them again (and of course, now some are so stubborn that I don't have the 'admin rights' to delete or uninstall them). So, I will leave them on, zip them in their folders (if I can) and let my daughter worry about them when it's her laptop. Until then, I will put up with the crap, use my own software and try and find the pictures in the emails that I sent out, and hope I get them back (I forgot to copy the last two months on a CD, which I normally never ever forget to do) So, here's a lesson folks - always copy your most prescious pictures and other things onto a CD at least once a week or you might wind up not having them again.

I just hope that I can get what Jaime has on her computer so that I can complete the slide-show I wanted to do. Shucks, I even lost all the Maxine pictures I saved, and the ones of Stringer and his wife, and the one with the make-up... That mad me so mad! Then I tried the freeware PC Tools Antivirus program and it stops working sometimes for some reason, so I have to find another free one, maybe Zone Alarm Internet Security , and hope it won't get rid of my smileys on my Internet Explorer. My Firefox already 'updated' itself without my permission and the first thing it did was get rid of my smileys.. what a pain.

Now, for the good news.. I am happy that my little family is back, and my grandson stopped by today to see me - he smiled and hugged me first thing, and then wanted to stay with me, but with this new cold and pain from sitting up all night, I just didn't have the energy. I will see him again for a few hours tomorrow. And naturally, I want to hear all about his trip and driving the golf-cart. Jaime said it took him a while to get 'comfy' with his grandparents but they were patient and they just love him and his mom so much they did not want them to leave.

Also, Stringer, my dear.. all those wonderful music-cards and other cards with the pictures of you and Marta on them came all at once this morning! The postman had to ring my bell because he could not put them in my mailbox - and I am glad so that none of them got bent! Thank you ever so much you two sweet darlings! You cannot imagine how that faucet of mine just leaked and leaked with happiness - and when Jaime saw them, she turned her faucet on too. Alex was wondering whey we were both crying and still sounding happy - I guess that's something he still has to learn. I had to explain to Jaime what you meant by 'make-up' - then she really laughed and wants to see the picture, so I told her to link on and look for herself.

I have always used graphic tablets and pens instead of a mouse, as it is easier for me to work with them and make my coloring books and the best ones are from WACOM - believe me, there are no better! (I'm an expert on those little peripherals) I wish I could get the new Bamboo One tablet and pen, but will have to do with my Grahire 3. Well, as I probably mentioned before, I had to purchase new tips for my pen, and while doing so I discovered a new graphic program that I want more than anything, even though I have Paintshop Pro 9 - which is one of the best on the market. But this little thing (ArtRage) I saw on the Wacom Site was super! It lets you create oil paintings, with glitter and many, many other features, with tutorials - it is even being used by professional artists (as I have noticed while reading the reviews and looking at the forums)who then make flash films with the pictures they did.

I told my daughter that I wanted this as an early Christmas gift (since it's going to be her's and Alex's eventually) I cannot wait until she orders it (my credit card is limited to purchases in Germany- since I am a retired person now - with a limit) - and I want her to get the CD too, in case of computer crashes again.

Now that I'm up and running again, naturally, the first place I came to was here and I will check my mail in a little while.

I just wanted to let you all know that I am still here, and doing OK, except for the frustrations which will pass.

I know this is a long one, but I've been kind of gone for a while, and had a lot to convey to my friends, so I hope I didn't bore you too much.

I love the cards, Stringer. You and Marta look so beautiful together - and she's just got the loveliest features when she smiles. So do you, but they are 'manly' honest. Your voice fits you and so does your super handwriting - you are an individual who is happy and stable in life - at least that's what your handwriting tells me - and I wish you happiness, peace and stability for the rest of your lives, my wonderful friends - you well deserve it. And yes, it's too bad that we live so far apart, but this site gave me that chance to get to know so many wonderful people and at this point in my life - you are all a godsend!

So, before my faucet leaks again, I'm quiting for now and going to check some email. Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend.

Thinking about all of you, with many hugs, your Chery.

    Hi'ya Momma C!

Don't you ever think for a minute that you could bore us! I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that we LOVE reading everything that you write.

So sorry that your computer is being such a pain. I can try and track down the Maxine ones again for you if you'd like. I'm sure I've still got them on here somewhere. I should actually make a special Maxine file, so I can easily find them.

I'm so glad the kids are back home with you now, and that you can visit again. I'm looking forward to hearing about little Alex's stories about his rides on the golf cart.

It's great that you are going to be getting your early C'mas gift from Jaime. I'm not sure I know what you're talking about, but whatever it is, it sounds like fun! Maybe you can give Stringy a new makeup job with sparkles? LOL!

Batman went AWOL on us and we can't find him! We had to hold down the fort! We behaved ourselves though. We played a few tricks on Stwingy, but he's a big boy, he can handle it! :D He doesn't know about the itching powder we put in his shorts yet... shhhhh! ;)

Thank you Starby, I'm glad that I'm able to 'talk' about anything and everything with you all - Larry listens but does not talk back much except when he's hungry or wants loving. I would appreciate those old Maxine clips if you can find them in your 'sent' folder in your email - just resend. Right now, Yahoo is down, so I cannot read my mail yet. Hope it does not take them too long to function again.

Alex and his mom had to do an emergency stop in Nova Scotia because there was a really sick old lady on the plane who needed immediate medical attention. Jaime couldn't understand why a really sick person would fly in the first place.. I told her that if she and Alex were not here, I would be on the plane headed to be with my brother, no matter how sick I was, because I would want to spend my last days with loved ones and that maybe that's what this lady was doing. She had to think about that one and agreed with me. But this delayed their arrival in Missouri over 7 hours and Dan and his family were really worried because they didn't know where she was.

The 'toy' I was talking about is a graphic (drawing) program that lets you produce pictures of all kinds and use 'pretend' oil, chalk, marker, glitter, and lots of other types of 'paintbrushes' to create your pictures. Even a professional uses it and has his pictures and films on a forum. I found it on the WACOM site, where I usually look for and/or purchase tips for my graphic pen. You see, I cannot use a mouse, so I use a Pen and Tablet with my computer, and I have tried so many types that I am an expert on the subject.. WACOM has the best - from all prices to all sizes. My current tablet is a Graphire 3 and the pen that goes with it needed another tip, so I went on the site to order a set - and found another tablet that I want, and also the new 'drawing' program that I want to try. Well, my credit card did not work outside Germany, so I asked my daughter to purchase the drawing program for me - and she said yes - so I get my new toy sometime soon. I will have to save up for the new tablet and pen though before I get her to order that. It's around 50 Euro and not in my budget right now, even though Jaime and Alexander will get them anyway, I want to still be able to pay for my own toys since she gets food and other things for me and Larry - I don't want to over-tax her when it comes to things that are not really necessary.

OK, now my computer... well it acted up again, and this time I was really mad. But before reformatting, and losing all of my stuff, I tried another tactic. I have used two different Registry Cleaners (will explain that on another day) and when I used them my computer would 'claim' that some essential files were 'currupt' and that I should do a 'chkdsk' which is short for check disk.. Well Vista does not like to let you go to a command prompt without going through a maze, so I went into my BIOS and noticed that there were a few changes that the new 'update' made to my settings there. Well, I changed them, and was ablb to go to my command prompt and also do a memory check and a complete disk diagnosis. Well, guess what - there was nothing what-so-ever wrong with my memory or files... After five hours of stress, but keeping patient, I was rewarded with the knowledge that I still know what I am doing 'computer-wise' and an assured that my laptop is OK, just Vista is a pain in the *ss. Yeah, I can now pass on this knowledge to JB, and also the rest of my family who all 'play' with computers. That makes me feel good.

Here's the part where we can all laugh about this though. For some reason, I was all of a sudden cut off from the internet and though I tried to reconnect, got a message that the admin turned off that feature. Well, I'm the admin of my own computer, so this really baffled me! That's why I thought the new updates I got today did something wrong and tried to do a recovery from another day - well that did not work because my recovery program said that there were 'currupt' files and to do a 'chkdks' before I could even do anything. So, after all I went through, and no problems found, I looked for my lighter to have a cigarette.. and lo and behold, in front of my laptop (on the bottom part near the closure) I found that the switch that was there was off, but I always left it on. (It's the one that turns off bluetooth and networks) - I then noticed that those indicator lights were out! Boy, I could have kicked myself in the you-know-what for being that stupid. I switched it back on and got my internet back. BUT, if I had not gone through all that trouble today, I still would have believed that there was something wrong with my disk and would not have found out how to get back to my command prompt in the future. So all's well that ends well, I guess.

Jaime is going to burn all the pictures she has on a CD for me so that I can at least have the ones she took. The ones that I did not save to CD are gone and that really makes me sad. From now on I will keep a CD in my laptop and update my graphic folder before shutting down. My Nero program lets me decide if the computer can shut off by itself after copying or burning a CD, so that will be used a lot.

Stringer dear, I noticed that I got an email from you too, but cannot open my mail yet, Yahoo has a 'little' problem right now. Ah, just got in, so when done with AMHD, will check my mail and see what's there. I always get excited when I get mail from my friends.

I will also have to take off the 'email me' feature in my AMHD profile, because if I don't know you, and there is no 'special' word in the subject - I delete it as spam and don't want to hurt anyone by not answering. They can PM me if it's important - and I'll tell them to initiate a thread if they need help.

Here I am just typing away while Larry is walking back and forth to his dish. I've been so busy that I forgot to fill it - poor baby. When I work on my computer, there is nothing else on my mind until I get it just right.

OMG, after typing all this into an editor with a spell checker, then pasting it to this editor, I noticed that mis-spelled words are all of a sudden underlined. None were wrong, just didn't recognize words like Starby or AMHD, etc. Glad that the spell checker here works again.

Now, I really have to go and feed Larry and check what else I need to read and/or answer to, so I'll leave here for now and hope that all of you have a wonderful Sunday evening.

Need to also watch a comedy on TV to settle down a bit - have not had such busy and frustrating day at home like these in a while - it did do me some good though. Proved to me that my brain still works and that I need to keep my cool as much as possible and also my sense of humor.

    So, C.U. later,

Starby, just in case you wonder what toy and want to see what I mean, here are a few links of interest..

    ArtRage 2

The above is the link to the ArtRage program that I want - the free version does not have the glitter and other stuff, but it's cool too. When I checked out the tutorials, I watched how a parrot was painted and was amazed..

    carlo cartun: Night Mare

Here is a homepage of a guy who swears by ArtRage and he's good at it, I've looked at all of his stuff. Absolutely super.

    Wacom Products

Here are the products that I have the Graphire 4 from, but the Bamboo One is not available in the US just the Bamboo and Bamboo Fun. The US Wacom site does not have the ArtRage link, but sell a lot of stuff from Corel. Plus, believe it or not, the Tablets and pen sets are at least 40% cheaper on the WACOM Europe site. I guess money rules!

Going to watch the Babynator with Vin Diesel - that looks like fun.

    TTFN,

http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/15/15_11_2.gif Don't worry Stringer, I check my mail every day now..

Momma C, Stawby and I were watching Barbie does Dallas and Stwingy came and took the remote contwol and changed the channel to football. He won't give back the remote and he's blocking the TV. Stawby's cwying in the cowner, Barbie hadn't even got to Dallas yet when Stwiny changed the channel.

Stwingy's a mean bwudder, give him a paddling. Now we'll never know what Barbie does in Dallas. :(

It woks wike there's numbers and lines painted on it, and he has fwiends over, and they are wunning back and fourth, and hitting each other. They've got a football, and they are gwabbin each others butts!

    They're weird Momma!

Yup, and I saw Stwingy slap one of his fwends wif a towel and then yell "Hoora!" Momma, they're scaring me and Stawby. All we want to do is watch Barbie, Ken and the three other guys that are in the movie. I want to know what she does in Dallas. :(

    Momma make Stwingy stop.

Ouch, he just wacked me with the towel, that stings, but isn't entirely bad. I'm confused. :(

There are girlz in the yard too Momma! They are wearing weally short skirts, and doing some sort of a chant! Stwingy must have picked them up in the wrong part of town! I think the girlz are twying to hurt each other! They are standing on each overs shwoulders!

Momma... 2 year olds shouldn't be watching movies like that anyway... I was just being the brother and son you always wanted me to be... I tried to save her from herself... but it was hopeless... she is a feen...

Besides, their 2 year old minds couldn't handle the "truth" anyway. Even though it was football Alty was on all fours watching the TV screen with her tongue hanging out. The other guys thought she was crazy and something had to be wrong with her she had a wild crazy blank stare in her eyes.

Well... I was very embarrassed Momma to tell you the least! Half of the guys left because of how she was acting and one said that I should call a doctor... "this 2 year old has a serious problem... "

Coloring book downloads - Agil's Coloring Book freeware download - Best Freeware Download

It's OK honey, you didn't miss much, she just winds up getting used and isn't there for the scenic view, that's for sure. Download the coloring book in the link above and have something better to do. I'm working on some Care Bear pictures to add to the collection of pictures already in that program and then all you will have to do is place them in the right directory and they'll be ready to color too. Share it with friends that have kids of all ages.

Stringer, I will see if I can get you a TV for you room, but if they watch that Barbie stuff again, interrupt - that's being a responsible brother and I'm proud of you.
I feel OK, thanks, nothing new has cropped up, so every day without new problems is a good day.

Since I lost all my recent pictures, I lost the one of you and Marta too. Could you please send me the one of you and Marta that you sent me in the card via email? That one would be just perfect to make a puzzle for you - with all the colors - just great.

I think I'll call it a day now that my computer is up and running, and Larry is ready for bed. There are a few shows to watch and fall asleep to - maybe I'll get at least a few hours rest before my legs wake me.

    Night, night all.

Now this dreaming bit should be posted in excon's Social Group thread. I don't think Marta would like any woman to dream about you dear, so I will respect that and just think about the both of you while I look at your picture.. that will give me much comfort.

    Night, night dears.

You're right, it is late so what are you doing up...

You know that I love to hear from you all no matter what time it is. It is almost three in the morning here and I still cannot think of sleeping. There is just so much going on in my mind and not even TV shows divert me this time.

I just got through reading a post from a newbie, a young man of 18 who has had a relationship for 3 years with the same girl. Well, it's over and he wrote down his thoughts... you've just got to read it sometime, he's more mature that some men who have been around and playing. I really enjoyed reading his thoughts- refreshing!

So, I'll just wait till I'm crispy enough or until Larry gets so persistent that I have to lay down just so he can sleep.

It's only 7pm here Cher. I am still trying my best to get some cleaning done, without much progress really. I was just starting to read your latest email. I'll go read the link you posted first. I can't stand to think of the things that need to be done around here. Uuuggghhh!

It's called playing football, and the lawn will grow and be mowed again before the winter - by next year it will be good as new. Barbie and Ken usually go to Vegas to have a good time, so Dallas is not that cool, just a bunch of oil wells and old rich political candidates. Try out the coloring book, it's more fun and you can pick the colors of your choice.

    Alty (post 510)
Same thing honey, I'm sure you've heard of erotic and exotic movies, well they do the same thing in all of them, and if you've seen one, you've seen them all. Even Care Bears or Strawberry Shortcake have a better story line than these old 'Dallas' movies, so don't fret. Tag football is the type of game that uses towels (or tags) instead of knocking the other guy down. It's a fun game and might be even more fun to watch than the dumb movie.

    Starby (post 511)
No starby, they are not from the wrong side of town. They are what we call cheerleaders and they usually cheer on their teams to motivate them to win. It's a show and mostly for the men, but honest, they come from a better part of town than that Barbie you girls wanted to watch. So, cuties, just settle down and join in cheering, those guys out there just might like it and offer to buy you some ice cream after the game. The ice cream truck is due to come by in about 30 minutes anyway, so be patient.

    Stringer (post 512)
Now Stringer, you know that two-year-olds have a short attention span, and next time they act like that, just do something else to divert their attention, and tell them the ice cream truck is coming and if they don't behave, they get none. That will at least have them think about something else for a few minutes.

Remember when you were two? You were in one place one minute and another the next, couldn't keep you still - and that's normal at that age. You used to stop what you were doing every time a commercial came on the TV, the show never interested you, just the commercial and the music - just like my grandson Alexander right now. Heck, he'll stop eating, playing, anything - when a commercial comes on. Hah, and the producers of these commercials thought they'd get the attention of the people with money... NOT. Kids that age don't have money or buying power, so someone thought wrong.

OK, now the three of you get in your PJs, brush your teeth and get ready for a story and a hug because it's a little late for you to be up.

Gosh, I hope the lawn doesn't look too bad, we might just have several tag teams wanting to play. Well, at least that way, you'll all make new friends if you behave..

Are you done brushing? Come get them hugs, and let's settle down.
