What's the name of the place that has record of your bad check?
I knew of an old check that bounced 4 or 5 years ago, but I can't find the paper. Where or who do I contact to obtain this info? It was a national organization I do remember that. Something like, "check recovery" or something of the sort.. You go to the grocery store that has wiring money and you can pay them there. Thanks

Probably a collection agency working for the bank.
The bank would be the place to research it.

Check written at Albertson, and I haven't bank with that bank in years.
Above answer to question: where did I write the check to: Albertson. Also, no longer banking with that bank in years. Still how can I find out about the hot check. Just trying to pay it... I found out about it through some Check Recovery Agent or something like that. But I no longer have the paper or info.

Need to merge threads with this one.
If you really want to make the check good, either ask the bank to research it or ask Albertson's if they have a record. If you haven't kept records, and they haven't kept records, there probably aren't records.

Threads merged but still not intelligible. Who wrote the check and why do you want to pay it?

There is no national clearing house that keeps these. They are sent back to the store from the bank, the store or a collection agency keeps the record, unless they file criminal charges and then the state has the records

I wrote it. Just want to clear up all debt and this unpaid check. I will check with Albertson, and see if it were ever filed with the state. Guess that's easy enough. District Attorney Office/check division.

Thanks, I'll do both. I think I'll approach Albertson first.

Ok, so you wrote a check that was returned for insufficient funds. In that case, if you want to make good you should be reimbursing the original payee of the check.

Yes, you should know
1. how much check was for
2 who it was to,
They are the ones you would need to pay, so just pay them if you wish to make this good at this point
