    Defamation character
At my current employment I had another employee who had lied and tried to claim that I had sexually harassed her granted I am bi-sexual but I have never made any advances toward her or any employee there was an investigation launched and with my evidence and witness the charges were dropped however after meeting with the district manager and human resources at my store this employee who lied on me (who happens to be a manager) talked with another hourly them, ployee at the store about what was said behind closed doors and this employee has been spreading rumors about the whole situation. Now I was told that if I said anything during this investigation that I would be terminated but just about everyone in the store knows about this situation and the outcome. Isn't it unethical for a manager to talk to an hourly associate about a situation that was discussed behind closed doors.

Welcome to AMHD. How do you know that this employee has been spreading rumors about the whole situation and the outcome? If this is the case, yes, the manager has been unethical.

Yes it was unethical. But you need proof, the manager violated the gag order and the co-worker was spreading the gossip. Then you have to show how you were damaged by this action. Have you gone back to HR about this development?

Well an employee there told me to watch my back. When I asked why she said she over heard another employee who happens to be chummy chummy with this manager say that if I did 1 more thing that she was going to go back to human resources on me and that I was on thin ice with our district manager. This employee said this the same day of my meeting with them. Why would he say that?

I would say this is not defamation - apparently if you do one more thing the manager is going back to HR and you are already on thin ice.

I would venture a guess that this is not news to anyone.

What part of what was confidential did the Manager reveal?

The other part I see as a problem is the person who overheard something and then told you what she/he overheard - will that person give you an affidavit and testify if this goes anywhere legally?
