Can you still be lawyer with a M1 on your record

I wanted to be lawyer but I know have petty theft on my record should I even waste my time going to law school or should I find something else to do .

I think the best thing is to take care of everything you currently have going on and then figure out exactly what goals you would like to pursue. Is there a job career center near you?
They would be able to help you with figuring out what would be best for you.
What do you see yourself doing in 5 -10 years from now.
You need a real plan.

What happened to your culinary school idea?
I wouldn't let one rip off landlord stand in the way if you want that.

I have heard of people with criminal records get into law/law enforcement but it may not be all that easy.

I wanted to deliver babies but am 25 and to old to start that so I wanted to do law or cooking

I think your best bet is to check with a career center.

Yes I am for real. I LOVE both so not sure what I want to do yet. Right now I am doing medical coding and billing. Cooking is 2 years law is like 4 or something like that not sure. I have to save up money to go to either because none of which are in Ohio

Well, I was thinking along the lines of someone interested in law school already having an undergrad degree.

First comes undergrad, then comes law school -

I think she needs to go to a career center and have them help figure out a plan for her future before she decides on any type of school.

An degree from Everest is not going to get you into law school. If you are interested in cooking (and good at it), then that's the career I personally would pursue.

What subject are you taking there?

Accounting and medical billing is okay but not law

Law is like 8 because you cannot go to law school until after you graduate from college.

There is a cooking school in Ohio. There are probably 20 or 30. There are also a handful of law schools in OH. Ohio Law Schools - Ohio State Resources - AllLaw

And if you believe you are going to "save up some money" to go to law school, you are not qualified to go.

There are cooking schools in Pittsburgh, Pa.
New York and Ontario too. Not sure what state OP is in.

Law is hard to get a decent job in without going the whole 9 yards.

The career center can give you tests at what you would be best at and they can get you involved in programs that will help you get there,

Some of the factors to be considered in making this further inquiry would include your age at the time of the conduct in question, how recent the conduct was, evidence of rehabilitation, and your truthfulness in disclosing the conduct.

You generally will need a college bachelor's degree (4 years) before law school. Law school is normally three years.

Please post your site about Judge Joe Brown. I do not believe this is true. In fact, I'm positive it's not.

Also - you know that's a TV program, right? He's a Judge on TV. Not saying he isn't an Attorney but he is no longer a sitting Judge.

Yeah - I wasn't able to find his arrest either. And he is no longer a judge (as of 2001) so if his arrest is in the last 9 years...

But this all reminds me of an episode of friends where Phoebe's brother says "I hope she grows up to be smart so she can be a doctor... or real estate agent"

Sooooo, if you want to be a lawyer, your FIRST case is going to be in front of the Bar arguing that you DO possess the integrity to be an attorney, your misdemeanor notwithstanding...

If you don't think you can WIN that case, then you should consider cheffing...

But even so it is a long shot to base your hopes on what someone else got lucky on.

I KNOW there are tons of Joe Browns, Oprahs, Montels, Ellens and more out there that will never have much more than a minimum paying job.

And concerning Everett - as I understand Everett has something like a 98% placement record. What they DON'T say is that there is no guarantee that that placement will be in the area of study. If you end up at McDonald's, you are part of the 98%.

But, Nohelp - you ARE a big help. You do great research, cut to the heart of the chase. You should be working in the legal profession.

And then when I went for placement help because the ads in the paper for legal assists.
Had changed from entry level to 4 months experience. All they did was look on Monster.com and tell me to go apply at the McDonalds in my area.
I had already given up on Monster.com and I don't need a McDonalds job no matter how deseparate I may be.

That is what I heard did not say it was true lol. But I don't know I will come up with something everyone changes but yeah I know what you mean guess I will just go the other way

Oh no for real. You mean I am paying $20000 and might not even get a job in what I am going to school for. Crap guess I should just go to a real college next semester that way I know I will get what I want. I did not know that. Thanks so much for letting me know this. I won't be wasting anymore money on them. Once this is up I am going to go find another school prob OSU around here or something .
