Stringer,
Let me know when to stop waiting for names, I will need to arrange the names to fit the card and email it to you in time for posting.
Thnks
Thanks for pointing that out, I thought I had written jrebel7. :)
Thank you all, Stringer, Firmy, Clough! Thanks to you, we've gathered such a list of names! :) I'm looking forward to when Chery will receive the card! :) :)
Thanks Unky, your name has been revised, forgot to PM :)
Stringer,
What time is it there and when do you want me to email the card to you?
It's OK Firmy. I knew you changed it right after you posted the current list of members on the card :)
Sunday 19.00 here. Stringer should be in the 11.00 hours now, or so.
Thanks Unky,
I am waiting to put in the last names (if there are any more) and add the finishing touches to the card.
Almost done,
Still waiting in case there are some who may want to add their names.
Outstanding Job Firmy , well done :)
Yes, outstanding job, firmy! :)
It's almost midnight, Stringer!
Did you receive the card yet?
Thanks!
I'm glad that you received it! That and doing this for Chery is really cool! :)
Thanks!
Best wishes, Chery. Get well soon,
I haven't been in here recently and just now saw this!
I think it's great to see so many doing so much for someone like Chery!
Well, the AMHD members card and the gift are off and in the mail. I think that Chery will be delighted.
I am slightly worried though, I realize that Jamie (Chery's daughter) has a lot going on right now, I have emailed her a couple times in the last three/four days and I haven't received a response. I hope that all is going well.
Cher and Jaime remain in my thoughts and prayers. I'll try to get a hold of Jaime on my Facebook and make sure things are okay.
Will do Stringer. I've been friends with Chery and Jaime since Jamie was expecting Alexander. Cher has been so strong through this. I remember her stroke, that was very hard on Jaime. I'm hoping Jaime is getting a little rest.
I'm just getting around to reading some of this. I only had a brief brush with Chery when I was still a newbie. I wish her the best and send prayers up for her and her family.
Chery has taken a break from AMHD to devote what time she has left to her family. She is truly a strong and loving woman. I will be forever changed to have known her.
I've heard so many great things about her and knew she was absent due to illness (as well as a couple other well known members). It's understandable that AMHD takes a backseat to real life. I think we have a wonderful group of people here that really reaches out to one another. I've been on the receiving end of that love.
Chery has lung cancer. She has lived almost a year longer than expected. She is a strong woman, and has gone against conventional medical treatment. Her doctor knows her well and respects her wishes.
It's been almost two years since she suffered her stroke. It took a long time for her to recover from that, but Jaime (her daughter)was right by her side, step-by-step, and got her back home again.
I have to admit something, something I told Chery long ago.
When she stopped coming to AMHD she would email me regularly. Often times I'd read the email and not respond. I was trying to distance myself.
She reminds me so much of my mom. The fact that she has cancer to boot, it hit too close to home. I didn't want to let her in because I knew I'd lose her, I was too afraid.
I wrote her a long email about it. True to Chery nature, she understood, sent me her strength, her love, everything that she has in her. It should have been the other way around, but she held me up, even though she's the one that's falling.
I love her, plain and simple. She's a wonderful lady. It's true, the good ones always have the worst time of it. At least I know I'll live a long time, I'm nowhere near good. ;)
Please Stringer, or J, since you're in contact with Jaime, tell her how much her mother means to me, to all of us. She is a bright start, the cream of the crop.
Darnit, tears, again. Will this ever end?
I'll tell Jaime Alty, don't you worry.
Cher and I got to talking one day and found that she has "roots" where my husband was from in Kentucky, after that, we just bonded like mother and daughter.
She would not read her email from strangers unless it had a certain word in the subject line, then she knew it was from a friend.
Do not cry Alty, you know Chery wouldn't want that. She'd get mad at you for blubbering.
Yes, she would.
She just has that mom gene, mom to all, and a great one at that. Jaime is both lucky and unlucky, because losing Chery will be so hard. This I know, sadly, first hand.
I hope Jaime decides to join AMHD, I think she'll need the support.
Thanks J, you made me smile. :)
Glad I made you smile Alty. My SIL went to germany a few years ago, sadly I had not yet met Chery or I would have had them get together. They would have had a fabulous time.
Well Germany is where I was born, where my mom was raised from birth and my dad since the war. He was born in Hungary. :)
The fact that Chery is in Germany makes her that much more like my mom. My mom actually died in Germany, three days after we arrived for a visit.
Okay, what's wrong with me? This thread isn't about me, sorry everyone. :(
Update:
I got a message from Jaime and she said that Chery will be in the hospital for another 2 weeks.
She did not go into any more detail. Stringer, I hope you got a little more info than I did.
Thanks J.
I received an email this morning about 4:30 AM from her, Chery has pneumonia. Please put her in all our prayers.
Hi Lloyd,
"Sorry, I've been very busy with cleaning the apartment and seeing Mom each day. She has pneumonia and will be staying two more weeks in the hospital. She is depressed that she can't write you all."
Oh, no!! That's not good considering her cancer and lung capacity!!
They are definitely in my prayers.
Chery and her family are in my thoughts and prayers.
Oh that news makes my heart sink. Still in my thoughts Chery! Please get better and come home soon.
Its strange that this site brings people together in the way it does...
Its being a very short time since starby died, and now chery is struggling, although I did not know these women, its amazing the feeling of warmth that they have brought to the people who did know them here...
My thoughts are with chery and her family and also the good friends she made here.
