Actually, thank you for posting the link to Alcoholics Anonymous! I often forget that people might not know how to find an Al-Anon group or even what it is! When I saw your post it reminded me that people may not even think AA, Al-Anon or Alateen might also help with drug addictions.

Also, thank you for all the kudos in your previous post, Ruby. (I am blushing here.) I try very hard to be compassionate and caring to people and it feels good when people see me that way. Good... but awkward! :D

Well I wanted to tell every one I went to my first al-anon meeting ! It was good . There were several ladies there with daughters that have drug problems . I am going to keep going . Grammadidi Thank You so much for the web sites . I was up all night reading them and I am going to turn some of the ladies on to them . Because there is not a lot of people that understand Meth and it being the worst addiction to kick .
Because of some of the things I read on those sites I now know why she choose that drug because it helps her to total forget her pain and everything else too .
I hope the police pick her up soon because the longer you are on this the longer it kill brain cell you do not get back . Very Scary !
I am so glad I came to this site ! Everyone has been so helpful and Understanding ! I just had no one to talk to about this . It not something you want to tell or talk about to others because they just don't Get it and just bring on more shame .
Thanks for saving my LIFE !

I just have to tell you how very proud that I am of you for taking the risk in writing to this forum and then taking the advice that you received. If nothing else, by going to Al-Anon, you will get the support and understanding from others who are going through similar experiences that you are. That will start your healing process. Maybe, if you are lucky, you will learn what you need to do to continue to support and love your daughter without enabling her and continuing to stay as solid and healthy as you are able.

You have NO reason to be ashamed... but I do understand why you feel that way. You know there will always be someone here if you need to talk about this. In addition, as you continue to go to Al-Anon you will form great relationships with those women who are going through similar things and you will become a source of strength to each other through the trying times.

I am so very glad you found your way here and received the help that you needed. Please let us know how things are going from time to time.

    Warm hugs,
    Didi
