Well if you've changed as much as you say you have, maybe your look could just be "versatile" and you could just keep changing. :P
It really comes down to what suits your face shape. But if it's just hair and beard ideas you're wanting though, go for some tousled unkempt look, without being too ratty. It's always hot. :P
In spite of having all those plusses like good personality. Most people look for a partner who will match their appearance, or help them look better. The "sharper" you appear, the more you will attract women who want a boyfriend who looks good. These women are concerned about both their appearance and yours. As you begin to get older, maintaining that look can become a full-time job.
Guys who have any presumption at all in their appearance, meaning they groom themselves to attract women I find both ostentatious and boring. So, fix yourself up to reflect who you feel like that day. The women attracted to you may just go for your hair, or beard, or they may be your soul-mate.
I prefer men to look as if they just got back from a two week hike. Scruffy (no beard burn on my thighs,) in worn clothes (you can spill something on them and they don't freak out) and ideally with a bit of armpit odor (my personal preference.) That doesn't mean that I have to look (or smell) that way, but it does mean that it's OK for me to have a down day. They will not judge me as a bad, bad person when I do not look my best. Good self-esteem in spite of a rough appearance means "good guy" to me.

If you're follewed everywhere by wafting scents of after-shave and deodorant, it's not very pleasant. But if you smell like you haven't bathed in a fortnight, that's pretty bad too.

Id have to say one of the biggest turn offs is long hair on a guy. Im in my early 20's so that is a big thing for me. I think looks depend greatly on the person. Im not a fan of very overweight guys but it is nice for someone to care about themselves.
Most of the women has different taste some of them the same, but I can assure you that one of those women maybe more than one think that you are the, guy" so don't worry how you looks too much be yourself be clean and neat. Trust me you can be the best looking guy in the world if you don't give your girl what she needs (security, trust, fun... ) she will dump you
