When people do that to you just try to egnore it. Don't let it take control over you just remember god created people in his image he loves you just as much as anyone else.:)

Unfortunately we live in a time when people are just plain ignorant. Rudeness is acceptable and funny. We have done such a good job at teaching this "there is no right or wrong " crap, people feel they can do what they like, and if someone has a problem with it, so what! A lot of parents don't even teach their children manners because they have none themselves, and if you say something about it, you are called a prude.
Well I'll be the prude. I raised my child to respect others. You respect them as people and you don't mess with other people's property. If it's not your's, don't touch it. If I see someone being nasty to another person, I don't have a problem letting them know that behavior is wrong.
I think it's a shame anybody or their child would have to be insulted like that by a bunch of rude and ignorant people.

    Heya Hope,
I am not disabled or anything and I am 52. Teens use to tease me behind my back. I think they thought I was around 30 and ugly for someone that (young). So I kind of shock them when I say "Wait til your my age and see if you are in as good of shape. I am old enough to be your grandmama!"
They treat me a lot different once they realize I am not what they thought.
I'm guessing you are too young for that one though.
Maybe say go ahead take the pics bring them back in a couple years and I will sign them for you when I am famous.
You have to think of things to say and do to catch them off guard (even like what Ruby said) and let them think it doesn't bother you and you are comfortable with yourself so they might as well give up cause they aren't going to get you upset or else learn to ignore them.

Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it.

I like the phrase Ruby came up with. Have them printed on business cards and leave a couple to the idiots or send it over with the waitress. I'm no good at confrontations like that - when I get mad, I quake and it makes me look like I'm scared.

My son's disability is invisible. He is mentally retarded. People that don't know of his condition often give him a hard time because he doesn't react appropriately to certain situations.

My son was in Challenger Baseball for years. I remember what a mom of one of the children with CP said to me once. She said people either stared or they avoided making eye contact at all. I make it a point now to make eye contact, smile and/or say hello.

I guess I would also say to consider the source. An insult from and idiot shouldn't mean anything to you.
