Go to Contol Panel - Sounds. Somewhere within there is New Mail Notification. Assign whatever sound you like to that Notification. This will give you an audio announcement of incoming mail. Your mail system must be open at the time to receive incoming mail announcements. This assumes that you have a Sond Card & Speakers. The alternative is to route all sound through the PC speaker.

Try Eprompter (eprompter.com). This will monitor several e-mail accounts and provide an audible warning when mail arrives also a visual notice in the tray area.
