I was offered a job before a background check can I be fired after job was accepted
I was offered a CNA job. I accepted offer. I was then asked to take a drug test and background check. On my application I stated that I had a misdemeanor. I received my orientation date. I was told that I couldn't go to my orientation because my background check was pending. Could my job offer be revoked? I am on currently on probation I live in lansdowne pa

Yes, your job offer can be revoked if your background check reveals anything that the facility deems inappropriate.

I would say it could happen if they find something they don't think is acceptable. My wife is an LPN and she has to go through background checks too. If something happens to show up, they could fire her.

I'm an RN and I go through background checks yearly. My job depends on a clean record.

I agree, if you were honest about what the offense was, and they know all the facts, nothing to worry about. ( normally)

All employment is pending background checks, and any other requirements.

Also as J9 said, depending on the position, there will be annual background checks, I know I had them as a medical tech, if there were any issues, we could be dissmissed.

Having had jobs that required background checks before... one of them that you went to work while it was pending... there will be a clause telling you if you failed... your employment would be immediately terminated at that point. It gives them and you a very clear excuse not open to discussion or interpretation. Additionally the reality is you are an At-Will Employee, and they don't really need a reason to terminate you.
