I can recommend dozens mate. Let us know what you've seen so far that you enjoyed, and that'll give us an idea of what others you might like.
Some of my favourites would be - Halloween (original), The Excorcist, 28 Days Later, Saw, Candyman, Dawn of the Dead (either version), Salems Lot, Maniac, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the remake) and See No Evil.
Well hold on to your hula hoops There is going to be a Saw 6 and Yes Even another Friday the 13th (Jason's Back) those are coming out next year I think
Yep, it's true. Friday 13th is out early in the year, and it's similar to Rob Zombie's Halloween in that it's more remake/re-imagining than sequel. Didn't work so well for Halloween, but having seen the teasers I've got high hopes for this one.
Anything directed by dario argento and lucio fulci for exsample zombie flesh eaters, the beyond, house by the cemetery, deep red, four flies on grey velvet, creepers to name but a few regards damian
I saw the ring in the movie theatre and I left the movies thinking about that movie for the rest of the day. It was very creepy.
The Ring (2002)
I liked this one too... Stay Alive
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0441796/
Stay alive was OK but you can't beat the old late 70s and early 80s video nasties
28 days later, 28 weeks later, saw, would be the first 3 that I can think of
Well have you seen jack brooks monster slayer staring robert englund well it's a comedy horror 5*
Yourself I also recommend tartan release satan which is a pretty messed up french film, and stay away from paul naschy films they are bad just watched the man with the severed head never going to get them 86minutes back going to watch the house that drips blood now
No am from northern ireland house that drips blood starring are horror masters peter cushing and christopher lee hammer horror vampires you can't go wrong with any of these
Oh, oh... Final destination... but its more creepy than horrory, if that's a word...
The Excorsist, Poltergiest... two classics, I think.
People Under the Stairs
People under The Stairs is too new for what I'm looking for it's Black and White and has a Severed Hand in it that kills people
Actually, the person originally looking for scary movies is a girl... but that's cool. Thanks for the suggestions everyone. ;]
Amityville Horror is by far one of the best scary movies ever.
I found The Grudge to be a bit corny.
Here are some more good ones. I've seen them all, except the 1956 one.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) - Plot summary (Invasion of the Body Snatchers, 1956)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) plot summary (Invasion of the Body Snatchers, 1978)
The Arrival (1996) - Plot summary (The Arrival, 1996)
Jeepers Creepers (2001) Synopsis (Jeepers Creepers, 2001)
Jeepers Creepers II (2003) - Plot summary (Jeepers Creepers II, 2003)
The Invasion (2007) (The Invasion, 2007)
The Ruins (2008) - Plot summary (The Ruins, 2008)
Transsiberian (2008) (Transsiberian, 2008)
I thought the grudge was pretty funny. :) I really liked The Descent, Seven (it's more action I think, but it was good), The Ring, Pitch Black (again, not really a "scary" movie, but it was intense) and there were a couple others but I don't recall their names at the moment.
I would recommend amittyville horror for sure... scares me every time...
First born is pretty good
The jacket
Gothika is pretty good at making you jump
There are so many but those are the ones I can see on our movie rack right now that I love! Lol
Wattabout the hitcher? The older ones betta, I guess.
Try watching
Last house on the left
I spit on your grave
Both based on true story's, from the early 80's.
Check out that new movie in theaters now... its called "Mirrors" or something... saw it on the weekend... freaky... very cool death scene... idea is insane and gruesome...
Ooooo... u have to check it out... even right at the start its kind of freaky... but u get a little confused.. but man, in the middle, there is such a cool death scene and it looks so real... such a crazy way to die... like someone off Saw... towards the end its so so... but right at the end, the conclusion is more weird than scary... u'll see... :)
I watch scary movies a lot and this one even caused a bad dream which is unusual for me. Try "30 Days of Night". Hope you enjoy it.
