Do any other women have violent nightmares?
Do any other women's on here have violents nightmares regularly? I mean that you are being chase, kidnapped, or held against your will by some maniac man? Is that normal? I feels in such a panic like I have been restrained once I wake up. How to get these bad dreams to stop. My mom use to stay not to eat sugar at night I mostly do follow that but not always.

I have no idea what sugar has to do with nightmares. I've never heard that before.

I occasionally have nightmares about being raped - but only occasionally.

I don't know about other women.

    - And what does this have to do with violent nightmares?

You asked about violent nightmares. That's what I answered because I DO have occasional violent nightmares. They disturb me for days. I was simply trying to share with you, connect with you, and you slammed the door in my face.

If you don't want contact with other people, don't want responses to your threads, why are you posting?

It doesn't havenothing to do with it YOU'RE the one that ask what have changed and that's what I answered. Again, I am not forcing you to 'share' with me and 'responds' to me etc. I don't know why you feels the need to keep trying if its bringing you so much distress then don't do it. If other peoples wish to respond that's not up to you if they do. Idont see how I slammed the door in your face I already read what you say about your nightmares.

That's not true... you know it and so does everyone else who has read your posts. You have admitted it yourself numerous times.

You can't do it half way. It won't work, as you have seen. I have to wonder whether you have become so used to feeling miserable that you have set yourself up to fulfill that expectation for yourself. Not on purpose, but it becomes a way of life, even if it makes you miserable. To do differently is to go outside of what you are comfortable with so you do nothing, or very nearly nothing, to truly change your life.

YOU have to be the one to decide that you want things to change, that you are going to put forth the effort (no matter how uncomfortable you may be about it), that you will share everything with your therapist, and that you will actually try what is suggested to you.

If you won't even truly try, how do you expect anything to change? Yes, change is hard, yes, you could be embarrassed, yes, it won't be easy... no one ever told you that it would be easy.

It will be gut wrenching, it will bring you to your knees, it will cause you to remember times in your life that you wish to God you could forget, but it will also free you and allow you to slowly let go of what holds you back.

Write everything down for your therapist if you can't tell her face to face. Plenty of people share their thoughts, concerns, worries, fears, that way.

You can't even imagine what your life could hold for you if you would allow yourself to work through it to get there.

Take it is small steps... share a little more each time you see your therapist... only you can make the change. Others can support you and encourage you along the way. Be a shoulder to lean on and vent to. Offer some thoughts, suggestions, and similar experiences, but no one can do the work for you.

Plenty of women have nightmares from time to time. You are not alone. It may be related to difficult experiences they have gone through. It may come up simply from something they had watched on television.

You have a great deal you are trying to get away from... perhaps it has something to do with that?

Well they say if the women have a really violent nightmares over and over its going to probably happens in real life to them

Who says that? Who are "they"? You have had abuse and turmoil in your life, so maybe some of it comes from that. Others have gone through similar situations.

Doula wwhat is that anyway like a midwife or a O.B. doctor?

'they' I mean the people online that's what I read they say it's like 'predicting your own death' something like that. All my nightmares involves some kind of maniac man. Do yours?

Oh I forgot: people says if you dream the same things constantly it mean its going eventually happen to you in real life. That's one of reason I am too scared go outside at night time too many crazy men walking around in the world.

Ahhh, be careful of what you read online as people can write anything they want to. If repeated dreams meant that they would happen in real life, I would know how to fly by now... and I don't mean in an airplane... :)

The internet can be a wealth of helpful information, but it can also be a source of a great deal of misinformation. Always make sure you are looking for information on a reputable site. Even then, you could interpret something incorrectly.

A doula is someone who supports women and families in pregnancy, labor, childbirth, and postpartum.

Well I know that is a job that you have but really I think they needs to do a moratorium on births in this world. I don't see what the point is for everyone and anyone feel entitled to make babies. I don't get it.

Although not everyone has the desire, it is a natural desire for many people to have children. Of course, many are not planned as well.

You don't have to get it... many people do not have any interest in having a child or in being around children.

Well mayb these people should plan it better right? I just notices a lot of people like you said don't plan on it, then when it happens they are shocked and crying, doesn't make sense to me. OK well I was just saying there's too many people having kids in this world that's all. Of course nobody can or will dictate that but there should be population controls is all I am saying.

You are certainly entitled to believe whatever you want to. As with most things in life, some people will agree with you, some will not.

And once again the OP has hijacked her own thread to start an argument on a totally different subject.

As long as we're on the subject of having children many people believe birth control should be retroactive.
