And as far as full moons always being a bad time psychologically for people--I don't understand that. In pagan religions, a full moon was the time of fulfillment, of the culmination of things previously begun--the fullness of the month, if you will.

It's also historically when things like moonlight hunts, and evening gatherings were planned before electricity made it easy to do things after the sun set.

I think that people are just reacting to having more LIGHT in their lives, honestly. People are more active in summer evenings than winter evenings, too, because the sun is out longer. I feel MORE invigorated with the full moon--and I think it's because it's "light" out longer.

    Hi, Synnen!

I can't disagree with you for the positive sides of this sort of thing. Nor would I want to or feel the need to. I think that the having more light thing is great! However, some people, including myself, are negatively influenced by the power of the full moon. Some people don't seem to be influenced by it. But, I know that I am.

    I don't know why and I don't think that it's a matter of choice...

    Thanks!

    So you think...

Remember, it's going to be a full moon! So, I'd suggest checking to see if anyone might be needing a shave and a haircut after sunset!

Nothing is happening to me, so I am now going to stealthily follow my husbands actions:cool:

"Shave and a haircut" reminded me of a song... 2 bits:confused:

I heard on the radio this morning that this phenomenon of a Blue moon (2nd Full in a month) only occurs every 2.7 years and that one on Dec 31st happens about every 20 years:eek:

Great, I'm sure that it will look great, where do you find the energy hon? Me, I am on 'vacation' so to speak (still working though as any business owner does).

Well now that you have raised the bar about this full moon thing I will have to deal with it I guess. We are going out this year, but only across the street to a party. So I guess I am only vulnerable to the affect/s that this has on the other guests... right... right?

    Thanks, you too.

This is not one of my favorite holidays though. I always found it a little shallow and meaningless... but that's just me, I don't begrudge anyone for celebrating. Especially in that I am glad this year is over... don't see much improvement for the next though.

It's shallow and meaningless because people MAKE it that way.

I see it as a way to reflect on the previous year, the good and the bad, and make goals for myself for the new year.

    Plus---the champagne.

Yeah, got to have hope and keep on trying...

Just got a new furnace and hot water heater thanks to a community action agency.

Now, it's up to me to keep moving on and trying...

I hope that you're okay, artlady!

I can't see the moon, it's all foggy or cloud covered, maybe a little later.

Clough... if things start growing that shouldn't... take a picture and post please:)
