    Pharmacy error - ?
I don't know if this is the right category for this - I trust it will be moved to something more appropriate.

I just had a bad experience with a local Pharmacy which fills my prescriptions automatically. My credit card info is on file so when I go in to pick up my prescriptions I give my name, verify my address and am handed the prescriptions.

Today I noticed that I am very low on one prescription, called the pharmacy and was advised that the automatic refills were picked up 10 days ago and charged to my account. It happens that I was working out of town that day and could NOT have picked them up.

I have absolutely no explanation - for all I know the prescriptions were placed back in stock, never picked up and charged to me.

My guess would be that somebody was handed the wrong prescriptions and may or may not have realized it - how you wouldn't realize that it's not your name on the bottle is beyond me, but I'm sure it happens.

At any rate - the "automatic credit card" payment arrangement is, in my eyes, dangerous. They have no signature whatsoever on file and have no idea if I picked up the prescriptions (which I did not do) or if they were handed to someone else.

I have removed it from the pharmacy's system and am busy trying to reach my Doctor to get refills approved.

    - A word of warning.

Thanks for the warning. I'm glad my pharmacy hasn't offered it. I probably would have gone for it before reading this.

Now for controlled substances in my state it's required to show a driver's license when you drop the prescription off and one also when you pick it up. The DL# is recorded in both cases.

    Wow! That's scary Judy.

I go to Walmart for my prescriptions, it's quick, easy, cheap.

They won't even let my husband pick up my prescriptions, it has to be me, I have to show ID and then I have to sign for them. It's sometimes a pain in the a$$ but now I understand why they're so anal.

Just wow. Thanks for the warning.

Wow. My pharmacy is pretty relaxed I guess. I've had my boyfriend go and pick up my prescription. He only had to give them my name and number. But at least they had him sign for it so there was some sort of record.

Same here I have to confirm my birth date to get my medication. But no one gets to auto bill me, and I change credit card numbers and ATM card numbers at least once a year.

You would think being a pharmacy they would have a camera!

Go back ten days ago and see who committed this crime?

It is a crime and I would think the drug store is culpable in some way.In that vein, I think they should cooperate with you,to say the least.

Artsy, adore you, but I think this is a case of human and computer error, not so much a crime, just a mistake.

Now, it is a mistake that is not only costing Judy, financially and physically because she now has to get a new prescription, but also, if the person that did get Judy's meds doesn't realize it and takes them, that person could be in serious trouble, not legally, but medically.

    Am I making sense?

    Oh look, stars.

LOL OK I see your point. And the stars! Are you peak foliage yet or near? Or snow?

Even though if it was computer error ,someone came and picked it up and since it is to easy to pinpoint the time ,lets see who it is on camera.
In New York, you can be assured there is camera there.

There are stars in the sky and snow on the ground. Tomorrow is halloween and I get to go trick or treating with the kids.

    Shoot me now.

Judy, what kind of meds were they? I may need some for tomorrow. ;)

Judy, I got your pills. I was wondering why my Viagra didn't have the same "punch". I will get your address, and send them ASAP.

You know I still love you, right?

And I was wondering why I'm taking the pills I got, not realizing they are your Viagra, and I have had the strangest - never mind.

And I still love you, too - even though my blood pressure is about to make my head explode.

Go get some pills. My pharmacy normally "loans" you pills like that. Don't go without them!
