I hope that they finally see things your way.
If there were any serious problems with taking these meds during pregnancy, we'd tell you. Right now your mental health is just as important as your physical.
Trust your doctor. I would probably go to see him alone, inform him that your family is the one that has a problem with you taking meds. Hopefully, if he's a good doctor, he could prepare and information package so that when you bring them in with you he can give them the info to read and help to put their minds at ease.
I understand why they're concerned. When I was pregnant my mother-in-law was really upset that I was on anti-depressants. She kept telling me that I was harming my child. This from the woman that drank and smoked during both of her pregnancies.
Like I said, I took Celexa throughout my whole pregnancy with my daughter and she's a wonderful, healthy, smart, beautiful little girl.
In my opinion, you could do more harm to the baby by not taking these meds, because, like I said before, your mental health does affect your unborn child.
I wish you all the best. Please keep us posted, let us know how it goes and, if you need anyone to talk to about any of this, or something else, well, that's why we're here, it's what we do. :)
