There is no standard time. Lab time ranges from 24-72 hours. However the requesting agency often sends it in (at least 24 hrs) then receives the results. 7 days isn't unusual although it could range from 2 days to 2 weeks.

    Dusty,

The delay has to do with administrative lassitude. The testing process takes very little time once begun.

You may be assured that your results are sitting on someone's desk and have been for at least 10 days.

    Do appreciate your update.

I don't know that I would put stock in the fact that the results are slow to come.

It is to your benefit in that EtG often degrades in the sample and that makes a re-test difficult after about a week although it can also increase. Unstable in sample and becomes more so with time (Rana & Ross, 2010, see O-3)

They won't let me know if I passed... due to the fact its for probation so I will only know the results if its EtG posotive which I have yet to hear.. 14 days..

Just wanted to update, went to see my po today
And turned in all my stuff for probation completion, she pulled my file and said nothing about the urine EtG 15 days ago except told me that I had done 1 and had me take a breathalyzer for a spot check which I blew a 00.00 of course, does this mean I'm good,at this juncture ide say its pretty safe to say I passed the screen, any thoughts dr.bill?

I don't know a thing about probation offices but it sounds as though you got by.

I lost track, how much did you drink and how long before the test?

2 beers 2 days before the test,44 hrs and 7 or 8 62 hrs prior, not exactly sure for the 62 hrs pry but that's my estimate

I took an EtG on June 3rd and its now June 25th and my po called me to check in for some things and she said one was my last UA. Could that mean I failed and she is contacting me this late?

Dr. Bill I have a few questions..
If you have to take random alcohol/drug tests, EtG. Drinking only 1 or 2 days a week and always making sure to have 85-90 hrs clean before the test; Is there anything to worry about? And will it take at least 24 hours for them to get the results back from the lab?
    Thank you.
