I don't know why my knee hurts!
Hey I have a problem. About 2 months ago, I jumped over a fence, and my foot caught, and I fell. My leg was not only pulled, but my knee hit a steel bar pretty hard. It didn't hurt right away, and I got up, and ran/limped home. The pain hit the next day, and for the next 2 weeks I wore a tensor bandage... didn't play much.. I thought it healed. Now for the past 2 weeks, it has started acting up again. Most of the time I can walk normally, even though it hurts. But if I play soccor, vball, or any sport that involves lots of running or jumping, it really hurts. It throbs, and I can hardly walk on it... the pain subsides after a few hours, and a few ibuprofen and tylenol! Can someone tell me what's going on? Or do I have to see a doctor? Oh, by the way, I'm 15.

    Hello:
My advice to you would be to see a doctor. Let the pain be your guide-you are young and presumably healthy; if this were just a "bump" it most certainly would not still be hurting. Is your knee swollen? Consider using ice packs on for 20 minutes at a time, and elevate the leg on pillows or a stool. Until you find out what is going on you might want to take it easy on the running/jumping/etc.
Good luck-I do think some further investigation by a physician is in order-

    Have a blessed day-
    Karen
