    It sounds like the cat is just being playful. Cats like to grab at and jump on and "attack" moving things -- it's part of their nature, their instinct.

    If your scratches are healing, it doesn't sound like you need a tetanus shot for this occasion, but it would be good to get one to protect you from tetanus bacteria that are commonly present in soil, dust, water, and manure. Depending on where you live and if you walk barefoot a lot, tetanus bacteria may be a danger.

    Rabies, as J_9 explained, is an entirely different condition.

    Without knowing how clean the claws were its hard to tell whether you might get tetanus or not. But getting a tetanus booster should not be an issue.

    As to the aggressiveness of the cats, you might want to post in the Pets forum for help with that.

    Cats claws are the worst for filth when you consider they use them in the kitty litter. So, yes, very germ laden but not something a good healthy immune system can't handle. However any cat scratch should be washed thoroughly with antibiotic soap.

    I see. After u all HV explained it to me, it looks very simple. I am surprised that the LOCAL DOCTORS COULD NOT SAY ME ANYTHING SURELY. But u guys HV thrown away all my confusion and fear. Millions of thanks to all who has taken the trouble of answering to my question. :) :)
