    Mark26 - as already noted in previous posts on this topic - average speed: distance traveled divided by time.

    No it doesn't seem to work, the answer is 860 knots but I don't no how you get that from dividing 2150 nautical miles by 2 hours and 30 minutes? Any clues?

    2150 nautical miles divided by 2.5 hours = 860 nautical miles/hr, or 860 knots.
