What have you learnt from using this site ?
What new facts, information or other things has this site taught you through researching answers or others posts ?

For myself I have had an insight into:
    • The Art market with the Paris Etching Society
    • The arcane nature of the US tax system
    • Some interesting Home repair and Plumbing tips
    • Americans will litigate at the drop of a comma

    But I still don't understand Accounting ;)

Women never seem to know if they are pregnant or not. They always have to ask here.

And they also can't seem to stay away from married men! ;)

    1. There is an incredible amount of people who need and want emotional support and even more who genuinely want to help.
    2. This is one of the few sites that I have been on where just because you post something it doesn't mean you get lots of spam or emails from people who are trying to take advantage of people. In fact, I haven't received one negative contact since joining.
    3. Most of the people on this site treat people with respect even when they make a mistake, ask a seemingly simple question or something out of the norm.
    4. Men have a REAL hard time with ended relationships.

Thank you for this site! I am proud to be a member!

I have learned that a disproportionate amount of people frequently have premature stains or spotting of an unnatural color or consistancy in their unmentionables. I find that quite perplexing and I have started checking my own more than usual, just to be safe, from what, I have not a clue. Although I have found nothing yet, AMHD will be the first to know when I do.

I have found out that I should have invested in a business that manufactures heating and Air conditioning Thermostats.

I never knew until I came here how popular Skin Whitening was.

Funny: Light people want to be darker and dark people want to be lighter.

I also agree with Rick. I do not understand why people are not happy with their natural skin colour and want to change it all the time. Never seen that ever before until on this site.

Oh, another one is how many people do not know how to prevent and use the proper protection for pregnancy.

Another thing too, I just thought of is how many people come here looking for advice and when they here something they do not like they get very defensive and state they do not want to hear it and get all stomping mad and nasty then leave. Although I got to say it is not a regular occurrence but that is something that baffles me.

I've learned that I'm more normal than I thought I was.

I've learned that there are a lot of movies out there that I missed in the 80s and 90s that sound pretty cool and I should probably see.

I've learned that no one has to do it alone... there are people all over the world willing to help you. You just have to ask.

Yes, this always seems weird to me, like there's going to be a simple solution "oh just put some windex on it, no need for a vet..."

Or somebodies eye sight. They are going blind and are waiting for a week from an answer from us before going to the eye doctor. All it is, is stupidity.

Along with much of what has already been posted...

Many people won't talk to their partner about sex, but they are willing to have bad sex and wonder why its still bad... how screwed (no pun intended) is that?

People all over the world have been as stupid as I was about relationships when younger.

I think I have become an expert on the NO CONTACT rule.

As a young lady (is 23 still young these days?) I've learned that there are so many here with so much wisdom and sense- just half of which I can only hope to gain with time and experience.

I have been around long enough to realize the world is full of people full of themselves long before I came here. I am pleased to learn how many highly skilled tradesmen there are here now, that are willing to give hours and hours of their time to help the DIY. There are some others, but I want to mention Speedball1, tkrussel, and Northern Heat. Oh, just like some other sites, we have a few professionals trying to protect their turf from those outside the priesthood.

I too have learned a lot about plumbing along with cars, electrical, and certain legal issues I didn't know before.

I have learned about helpful web sites that I didn't know existed.

I have also learned the adage is true: Common sense is not all that common.
