Work this out as you read .
Don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!




1. First, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)




2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)





3. Add 5





4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator:D





5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759..
If you haven't, add 1758.





6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.






You should have a three digit number






The first digit of this was your original number
(i.e. how many times you want to have chocolate each week).



The next two numbers are

YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!! )

I was never good at math.

My son is eleven. A few weeks back he had math homework. It was long division. I had to look it up on the internet because I forgot how to do it! :eek: :o

At least it wasn't that 'new math' schools are teaching kids nowadays. That stuff makes absolutely no sense to me. It doesn't even look like math, and it doesn't always get the right answer. Apparently, as long as it works some of the time, it's an effective tool to teach kids. I think I will refuse to hire any accountant who learned 'new math' as a child.

I've read it only works in 2009 but some have seen this before, I'm no math expert but you have to change the numbers in step 5 in order for it to work next year 2010. I don't know how though:confused:

You only need to add 1 to the number (1759 becomes 1760, and 1758 becomes 1759). That way, you have a greater number to subtract from, and get a larger value (your age increased :eek:), that of your age. :)
