I have a story, but it isn't really funny, it is the sweetest ever... ready, here it goes.

Keep in mind, a couple hours earlier I had Max and Alex (I babysit alex) in my arms and I was singing a made up song about how much and why I love them with all my heart and soul... K, on the sweet story!

Maxy walks up to me with his hand behind his back... he says mom, I need to talk to you, and this is serious. (I automatically think he found a camping knife or something in the wrong spot) But what he said was amazing and the most loving thing out of his mouth...
He says Mom, this is so serious so listen to me, If I die, and that is serious, I want you to know and remember how much I love you from my heart and soul, and I think this will help you remember that... so he says... here, I love you mom... and he pulls his hand around and opens it... it is a necklace from his sissies room, it is a big heart and says forever on it. I swear he is the sweetest kid I have ever known.
Have I ever told you that he has always been so upset about living in my tummy with my guts? He has an issue about it, he thinks he ate my guts... poor baby

Oh, Starty, that is just precious. Wow, I feel better. You're right, life is good. My daughter said to me the other day, "Mommy, I won't every leave you, I'm going to live with you forever, you don't have to worry, and if I get married and have kids, they can live here too." I almost choked on my coffee when she said that. Guess I need to get a bigger house. ;)

OK Star and Alty.. here's my view of cleaning... someone else came up with it but it applies - when it comes to setting priorities. Life is really hectic as it is and we all need to find a place and time to do things we like to do and not feel guilty about it all the darned time..
    Quote:

Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle,
when 24 Hours in a day is not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and 2 cups of coffee.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him

When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls.

He then asked the students if the jar was full.

    They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls.

He then asked the students again if the jar was full...

    They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else.

He asked once more if the jar was full.

The students responded with an unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand.

    The students laughed.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life."

"The golf balls are the important things - God, family, children, friends, health......things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full."

"The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, house, and car."

"The sand is everything else -- the small stuff."

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls."

"The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you."

"So...Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness.

    Play With your children.
Take time to get medical checkups.
Take your partner out to dinner.
    Play another 18.
There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.
Take care of the golf balls first -- the things that really matter.
    Set your priorities.
    The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.

The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked'. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."
I'm just adding - that there is always room for spending time on the computer with friends too!

    Love you all,

    Chery

    OK, Start, thanks.
I had a busy day - weekly coffee, at group.
Then I got the gifts I ordered for Alexander in the mail - Rockinghorse and Bike have to be put together - so guess what I get to do outside in the yard because there is no room in my little place.
I don't want to give Jaime the boxes because I want Alex to remember he got them from ME, and if dady puts them together he'll not remember who they are from.. so I might have to send an emergency signal to my neighbors for help and make some coffee for them while we put those darned thingies together. - just kidding.

Will take pictures of the finished products when I'm done and hope you'll be able to recognize them for what they are supposed to be. HaHa.

No, really, I've always been good at assembly and am not worried - just thought I'd get your imaginations started with a bike looking life a robot and a horse looking like the rear of it instead of the whole thing.

It's been a long day for me, and I still get sad sometimes talking in group and listening to other's frustrations over their fate with cancer, but it needs to be done and helps more than hinders - just drains you afterwards. I try my best to keep an upper lip and think of things to help them laugh and think of something else before they go home.

So, tonight I might fall asleep during my favorite Sci-Fi shows, good thing I can record them and watch them after my 'nap'. You can be assured that I certainly will NOT do any housework tonight or tomorrow.. got other plans. Oh, I did start a load of laundry before I left this morning, and dried it when I got home.. does that count as housework?

Take care dear, and enjoy as much af the day as you can.

Welcome Albear, anything to make you feel a little better.

We all eventually get everything done, that's just the way we 'gals' function.

As a matter of fact, I did dishes while chatting on the phone for at least an hour, so we are also capable to doing two things at a time, contrary to some beliefs.. And I didn't drop a glass plate.

There is a little of Supergirl in all of us.

Chery, I would love to see pics! Sounds nice to sit out there and drink coffee and put together a gift for the most lovely grandson of yours! ;)
As for the special groups you are in, they need you and it helps to know someone as strong and willing as you. They probably fell in love with you the first time they read what you wrote! Just like me.
Oh and as for cleaning, I am here all day, and the kids sleep, then I get to clean and finish up stuff. You know what else, it can be very fun to clean with the kids, so we get something done and they think we are playing;)
Nice job on the laundry Chery... good girl, yes laundry is house cleaning!

Oh, honey, I bet you can - just don't remember.
When my mom used to say that I could never do two things at the same time, I proved her wrong...
When sitting on the toilet, I actually took care of business, caughed, and passed gas. So.. that was THREE things at one time.
So, we all have the ability!

This happened over 10 yrs ago, and my daughter was there too - she laughed her A off. You see, my mother always had fun putting me down, so this one sort of shocked her, but my daughter was proud of my rebuff.
