    NowWhat
My Mom's living room is a library. She loaded me up with about 5 novels. I didn't expect to have 2 of them read already (less than a week).

I just want you to know that I jinxed myself when I said it wasn't as hot today. Sitting here in front of this computer - I am now sweating.

    NowWhat
I know - she has all these books - she even started buying double because she can't remember what she has. We bought her this gadget for christmas that she can download books to and then read them from there. I don't know how many it holds - but she was always lugging around all these books when she travels (which is alot). This thing is lighter than a good novel. But, the downside (which is for those of us that get what she has already read) is that she doesn't have the books just lying around anymore.

I have been on a book hunt to make one of my walls, a book wall. The whole thing just books from top to bottom, I don't care what the book is about, history, a novel, true to life, anything. The kids have their books why can't I have mine? I love them and I really wish to get the book wall when we move. It would have course be open to anyone that would like to borrow one!

We have a "library" in our house. We have it filled with antique books. They are prettier to look at, but not extremely interesting. Not for me anyway. I like different material I guess. I should probably up my standards!

I have 9 six-foot-tall bookshelves packed with books.

    I need a library.

I am in love with antiques. Books and furniture... I have a few old books but I hardley everread them. I have 10 years wrth of my Great great aunties journals... BORING! No drama in them what so ever, births, marriages, ceremonies, deaths, and when they picked the corn... LOL

I have kept journals since I graduated hs. And when I read them now - I want to crawl under a rock. They don't even make BAD soap operas about the stuff I wrote about. I have to remember to burn them before they can be passed to my daughter. How embarrassing! I may keep the ones that have her dad in them. Other than that - it is just teenage bs!

That is so cool. I am starting one tonight. I have this huge list of goals and that is one of them, a big fat journal

Wow, everybody could open up their own libraries. Pretty cool.

It was so hot and we had a cold front coming through. There was severe thunderstorm warnings and tornado warnings here for a couple of hours. Apparently its been dropped to watches now.

Phew, about 30 minutes away from us are known for tornadoes. As long as it touches down in fields and avoids everything else.

Hope Start, Nowwhat, Synnen, Mango and everybody else is having a great night.

Hi Joe, yes a library would be very cool. Glad the heat is gone for a moment. But don't get swept away in a tornado, that would be crazy... I hope you are great, tell the family I say hi...

I just want to say that the more I listen to the Dixie Chicks, the better I like them.

My husband doesn't like them because of what they said. I still like them though. They are great, I haven't heard their stuff since the Earl song CD! I saw their video on CMT and like one of them.

    Hi my friends :)

I hate to say this, But...........currently there is fog a commin' and I am going to need a sweater  West Coast.

    I can already hear it...

Quickly off that subject... I love antique books, too. I love rooms filled with books. Wherever they may be. I love getting lost in the library. I can just sit in an isle, all by myself, and get lost. Whewwww.

I love the way antique books smell, weird, but true. It reminds me of my grandmas/grandpas Study. Olfactory kicking in.

Lately I have been reading a lot of deep stuff and I thing it is time for FUN. LALALALALALALA

Good to have friends like "yous-guys"

Lol... the day of my wedding... All of my bridesmaids came from out of town, except my sister. She set it all up for me, and we all got our hair and nails and stuff done at the same time that morning, we basically reserved an entire salon.

We listened to "Goodbye Earl" on a continuous loop. I thought it was the most hilarious song in the world to listen to right before getting married.

As far as not liking what they had to say... I can't be mad at them. They were saying the same thing I was. So what that they were famous and saying it? I still agree.

You and my husband will be getting along well then. He was telling me what to type last night for his posts, and finally I said there is no way will I say that, he ended up making friends and having his way with them... BY HIMSELF! So be it. Oh well I say. I love the fact that you guys played that song. Too funny.. My kids used to love that song, and of course my husband hated it. He is obviously pretty hard headed.

    Meeeeeeeee, tooooooooooo.
I think you would be really fun to hang with... "Tru Neighbors" are hard to find.

Oh, by the way, I love Craigslist. Especially the "Free" category. It is so cool the way people just say "here, come and get it-to a good home, etc." And it's not just junk, :p it's decent.

Sorry to say good bye for now, I'm off for the next thing on my schedule.
I will pray for the Fog to roll your way:)

Love the Dixie Chicks. I think I liked them even more when they stood up and spoke their mind about their beliefs on the war and George Bush.

Never heard of the craiglist until startover told me about it. Had no clue. I will defiantly have to check it out.

    Goodbye earl song is hilarious.

    Have a good night everybody.

    NowWhat
Good Morning all! I am sitting here with the first cup of cofee of the day. It is raining outside - but sticky inside.

I talked to my daughter this morning (she is 700 miles away at my sister's for the week) - we missed her call last night due to no cell service and we weren't at home - so I had a tearful, heartbreaking message from her. So, she called 1st thing. She is going to a movie today and then the pool.
You know, I miss her something awful, but... My husband and I are really enjoying this time together. We went to the park/lake one night and grilled out hamburgers (and watched a couple make out by the water) - then we went to a friends cottage by the lake last night. It has been great. The conversations are coming so easily.

Anyway, felt like sharing this morning!

Morning ladies. Nowwhat, you are wonderful to take this time. My husband and I did it for the first time in 10 years a year ago. It was the weirdest thing but good for us. We weren't home though so that has to be a little more rough. We were on vacation and they were left home. We were very busy but bored without the kids.

Me and my sister have always said that we should do this. Send the girls to each other's houses for a visit. But we had never done it.
We both feel kind of guilty for having such a good time - even though we both miss her. But, we have both said that we should have done this along time ago!
I know Saturday will be here before we know it, so I am trying to just enjoy this bit of "freedom".
When I talked to her this morning, she asked that when she gets back, can she have a friend over. She is already planning her time!

It was our ten year annicersary, we have never been alone without kids for 11 years. I know weird, but oh well. We are definitely feeling it is time to treat ourselves again. It is easy when you have less kids but when you ask someone to watch four of them it is a little hard. Nana can only take so much,is what I am saying... Nowwhat, I would love to send my daughter to my sisters, but then I would go to cause it is where I am from. Proud, wakie wakie, we are here to chit chat...

    NowWhat
Well, normally I go to - but I just spent a week with my family, so I don't feel like I am missing out this time.

Our problem is that the closest family to watch her is 2 hours away. So, to just go to dinner is sometimes hard. We could get a babysitter, of course, but I really don't trust many people to take care of her. I am weird that way! When they cut the cord at birth, my trust went out the window! We have had 2 babysitters in the past almost 7 years. Both really good girls, but now one is in college and has a life (doesn't babysit anymore) the other will be driving soon so she may not want to spend her time babysitting - she may want to start dating! So... plus, as you know, I am cheap. I mean, I don't even turn on my air in the July heat! :)
If you have family that can take your kids - even for the night - you are so lucky.
