You have to keep re-applying most sunblocks after a couple of hours for them to stay effective.

I don't tan, it's sad, i just turn pink and then white again.

I'm mostly Irish, German and Austrian though, so that has a lot to do with it.

I turn lobster red, then I peel, then I turn white again. Somehow I ended up with all the irish, scottish, and german and none of the cherokee. My brother tans in the winter. It's not fair. I'm even paler than my mother, and that's where all the pale genes come from. Stupid recessive genes.

There's probably 1/24 th of me that's native american. I think Blackfoot. Don't remember which side though. I think my mother's. My great-grantmother's mother (or grandmother) was native american if I recall correctly. I used to tan so nicely. So much for that.

They do have some nice moisturizers that add a healthy glow though. And they don't streak. Try Jergens brand, it's wonderful!

I was cue ball bald. Surprisingly, didn't look too bad. The only problem was that my hair grows out into a natural mullet.

Everyone's hair grows back as a natrual mullet. Some of this is because of the hair placement, and also because of the rate of the growth. Shave anyone you will get the same results after a wile. :) That's why it's so hard to grow hair back. And still have it look good. You need to tamper with it in the meantime. :)

Of the 5 other people that shaved their heads at the some time, I was the only one that ended up with a mullet. Even if you disqualify the 2 guys for keeping their hair short, that still leaves 3 other girls who didn't end up with mullets.

It always looks like a mullet to me though, so oh well.

Not to bad though. What made you decide to do that? You get mad at it?

Mostly it was a sign of support. A friend was losing her hair from chemo, so her husband, kids, me, and another friend all shaved our heads with her.

Do you have a yucca plant around?

Seeing as I have no idea what that is, I don't think so. I have rubber plants, a peace Lilly, some other weird looking ones, and a spider plant.

I'm covered in urticaria after a walk in the countryside, no idea what I came in contact with but I'm itchy too. Look and feel like I've been rolling in a nettle patch.

Perhaps scratching? Rubbing? Showering and then putting on moisturizer?
  • May 24, 2010, 06:20 PM

They are black fly bites, so yes scratching and rubbing is temporarily relief, but it doesn't last and I am STILL itchy. No amount of moisturizer will help this.

    Q, what is urticaria?

Non-acetone nail polish remover, or clear nail polish. It will tingle a bit but it stops my mosquito bites from itching.

Oo Thanks, I'll give that a try. Oh I think my nail polish remover has acetone in it. I'm giving it a try anyway.

How many bites do you have? I think I got one of those on my ankle once I had a scar for a while. I hated it. It was the worst.

Like a million. Lol. My camp in the middle of a forest. Black fly, mosquito, and horse fly Heaven. I have four on my face alone, I can't count the ones on the top of my head, but they are plenty.

Awwh Bell! And go see a GP. They can give you something to take care of all that crap. Not to mention, with all those bites you never know what those bugs are carrying. It can't hurt. That really sucks. Also, go out the store and BUY calamine lotion, and laoe, and vitamin E cream for your skin. It will help cool and soothe the bites.

I was going to take an anti histamine, but I don't know if that would help, because guess what? I am ITCHY!

I am heading to the drug store first thing in the A.M The worst thing about black fly's is they itch for days. Than they stop itching for a day or two, and than they itch again.

A really itch bumpy rash that looks just like nettle rash but can be an allergic reaction to anything.

Drugstore! And maybe a doctor just to see if any of them are unusual or dangerous. Better safe than sorry. At least it's not ticks.

Funny you should say that, I actually pulled a tick off me this week end. First one I have seen since I have moved to Nova Scotia. I used to live in Manitoba, and you could get ticks walking in someone's grass if they hadn't mowed it in a few days.

Blek. I hate ticks. Minnesota is full of them, and mosquitos, and every other creature. I wonder if Hawaii has this many mosquitos? It's humid and damp.. .
