It's 1:45 am, last person left about an hour ago, helping to clean up some now, will do most of that tomorrow. I'm going to sleep in tomorrow though. We had more people than we expected at the party about 30, expected about 15 o 20. I guess we throw a good party and the word has spread. We still had a lot of food left over. You wouldn't believe it, we went through 16 bottles of wine, 2 cases of beer and 6 bottles of liquor. I am a little worried, we had about 5 inches of new snow and I pray that everyone gets home safe. We asked them all to call when they got home, most have called already. We opened presents because we won't be here for Christmas, we had 8 large trash bags of wrapping paper. Sleepy... tired, but my mind is fully awake... need more wine... going, going, gone, hope the wine helps.

We just got 12 inches of snow. Digging out for the last hour. Going to get another 10 inches possible. Winter wonderland. More snow today then we had the last two winters. Wow.

Hey Joe... getting a workout huh? We have about 5 inches and I think it is over for now. It is beautiful with bright sunshine sparkling on it.

This may be one of those years my friend. I remember the last "big" snow year in Chicago in '79. We had continuous snow for about two weeks, it was always below freezing and it built up to over 60 inches of new snow. There was nowhere to put it all, buildings caving in, people disappearing, it was bad enough that it cost the Mayor of Chicago his job. They ended up putting the snow "on" Lake Michigan. When the streets were plowed it made the build up well over 6-7-feet. People that could get out and drive were putting little plastic balls on their radio antennas to alert others that they were turning off a side street.

Lately though we have been having little snow but extreme cold. This year so far we have had about maybe 9-10 inches overall. And it has warmed between the snows so it hasn't been too bad so far...

You seem to be getting it though... just be happy that you are young enough to get out there and tackle it... ha. Last year I purchased a monster snow blower, it is big. The problem with it is that they recommend that there be over 4 inches of snow before you use it...

Stringer... I used to love shoveling and using the snow blower! Ok, that's it I am moving back to Alaska... Yeah right!
