I'm working on that this very moment. It's a tough one I must admit. I think most folks from Arkansas eat spam but to calculate the Spam to weight ratio of that many people just short circuted my calculator. I'll get the answer soon though... I'm sure of it.

Don't forget Mag, that if you are calculating the Spam to weight ratio, to take into consideration the obesity factor that presents itself mostly in the population of the southern half of the US.

Here I have a scientific calculator you can borrow, fresh batteries and all.

Surely, you are talking about the fat heads? When I was down that way, I met up with a large number, a disproportionate number, of fat heads. We got along swimmingly.

Well, there are the fat heads, then there are the round bellies. You can usually find them all congregating at the local gas station gassing up there pick ups and picking up a greasy lunch of deep fried chicken on a stick with a side order of fried pickles and a bar-b-que balogna sammich!

Now I know what you are talking about when you mention Bar-B-Qued balogna. One of them suckers tried to pawn some of that stuff off on me. Looked like something straight off the slaughter house floor. When you go to bar-b-queing balogna, I think you have sunken to the pits of redneck hell.

I only ride the short bus Mag, I don't eat the balogna!!

    Gimme a good salad.

I love it when you go to the gas station and people ask:

"do you want anything from the deli"" LMAO so hard, those rednecks don't even know what a freaking DELI is!!

Everybody knows that fried boloney is the only way to go. Where I come from you can get fried burritos at the gas station. Talk about gassing up!

Did I tell you I was born and raised in southeastern Arkansas? (or could you just tell?)

LOL, Em, just right across the river from where I am in Southwest Tennessee.

We have fried pickles, fried green beans, fried corn, fried pies. OMG, it's no wonder people here are not so healthy.

You can get fried twinkies at the festivals here in Tidewater, VA! My arteries aren't up to trying one, though.

I do love me some fried okra, though.

Deep fat fried cheese curds are the way to go!

Wisconsin is the cheese capital of the U.S. Sorry Vermonters, but 'tis true.

My Dad grew up in WI. When he was in college and trying to find ways to earn money to make ends meet the state ran a contest for the best rhyming slogan. He wrote in and couldn't understand why he didn't win. His entry was: Jesus loves Wisconsin cheeses!

Until you have fried cheese curds, you don't know what you're missing.

I was amazed that away from WI, I couldnt' even GET cheese curds. People didn't know what they were!

    It was awful!

(I had a dream last night that I opened a combination book store/gaming shop/and cheese shop. It was weird, and carrying over---can you tell?)

    What is a Cheese Curd?

They're yummy is all... and you can get them in about 100 flavors these days. I love the pepperjack ones with the jalepenos! Mmmmm

You know... we didn't do the Beer Barrel Polka at our wedding.

And aside from not saying grace before eating (people were AGHAST! But my concession to our Christian parents was the ceremony, not dinner), that was the ONLY complaint I got about our reception----how come you didn't have the Beer Barrel in der, eh? Dat's like, my favorite wedding tune, dontcha know.

OMG, Synn, you make me feel at home with that accent of yours LOL

Growing up my Dad used to play polkas on his accordion, my sister and I used to get all dressed up and do the polkas around the house. Mom has it all on video (you know the old fashioned 8mm film)

Absolutely did the chicken dance! (The Little Bird Dance, we call it here).

We didn't do the Flying Dutchman, though, which made ME mad, because that was one of the few that I actually requested. Those bastards.

My grampa played the accordion... I loved it soooo much.

A cheese curd is raw cheese. It is the chedder cheese before it is put into the presses and formed into blocks and aged. The large chunks of curd are run through a cutter and just bagged and sold as cheese curd instead of aged into cheese.

Ahh the chicken dance... my 88 year old grandma lead that dance at my wedding. The pictures are priceless!
