All I know is... I was a size 6 when I got married and now I'm a 10. 48 sucks rocks. And fyi I don't eat any more than I use to. And that is all I have to say about that... ( just like Forrest Gump)

I agree for me to try to squeeze into a size 6 pair of jeans when my butt is clearly a 10 is not only unattractive... it HURTS.

I get that a lot. But I'm actually the right size for my height. I'm five foot two and weigh around 110 to 115 pounds. I'm just petite. I eat a LOT too. And whenever my boyfriend comes back he tried to make me eat a bunch of protein-filled-foods (I already do) I think a lof of it has to do with the fact that I walk a lot and I think I have a decent metabolism. I believe that once I hit about 25, possibly have kids, I'm going to want to be more careful with what I eat.

Just be comfortable, that's what's important. Besides, people look better in clothes that actually fit them.. I guarantee your man thinks you're sexy anyway. ;)

I like women with curves. It doesn't matter if they're size 6 curves or size 14 curves. The rail-thin look is just not attractive.

Now, I know there are some people who are just naturally that skinny. The problem is, there are even more that get that way through drug use and eating disorders.

It's not healthy. Your body needs fat reserves. If for no other reason, then as insulation during cold weather.

I've had people tell me I need to gain weight. I've also had people tell me I need to loose weight. I choose to do neither. I'm fairly thin, but I have a bit of extra fat around my middle and thighs. I like my pooch. I also like the fact that I can get away with wearing some things that just wouldn't look right if I was 20-30 pounds heavier.

My mother's overweight. So is my grandpa. Most of my family is categorized as obese. High blood pressure and high cholesterol also run in my family. My mom has been working on losing weight the past couple years. Developing low-grade hyperthyroidism has made it easier for her.

A friend of mine has hypothyroidism and is taking a dosage of synthroid usually given to people who've had their thyroids removed. She gained a lot of weight before it was diagnosed. She's still working to lose it. She's still absolutely gorgeous. Maybe it's because I've known her since before she gained the weight. Maybe it's because she has a personality that sparkles. Don't know. Don't care. I just know that, even being overweight, she's a beautiful person.

Even if I lost every pound possible and was down to skin and bones, I don't think I would fit into a size 6. I have hips. The kind of hips that used to be referred to as 'birthing hips.' I've come to peace with the fact that I will never be one of those girls. My bone structure just won't allow it.

That's a good thing. My problem is that I can never find a pair of pants that fit me nice and tight. After I wear them once there's extra material around my thighs and my legs because they're just thin. I have chicken legs. So most of the time, I find pants that fit the hips but are too loose and too long, or I find the ones that fit my legs but not my hips and they're the right length. I choose the looser ones. But I have pants ranging in sizes from 0 to 5. they're different brands too.

My family is the same. Fathers side the women are more over weight then the men. On my mothers side it is mix of people that are not and are.

One family member is overly obese and it needs to be addressed because I feel that we are going to lose this family member if things are not changed. It does effect the health of lots of things. Blood pressure though is not just a fat mans disease. There are really skinny people that have high blood pressure too so that is just not a fair statement. Some things just run through families no matter the state of the persons weight.

    Hhealth,

I hear you. Nothing in the world wrong with a woman with curves.. in fact I think most woman look BETTER with them. I always judge myself much more harshly than I do other women. I don't know why. Good for you that you are at peace... I want to be.
    Ohsohappy,

Comfort is the most important thing for sure! :) My hubby says I look better now... ha ha.. but in MY mind I'm thinking... what the heck is he going to say if he ever has a prayer of seeing me in the buff again... :)

What makes you think you aren't "in the buff" right now my dear?
I also think women judge themselves more harsly than other women.

    Hi ohso:

In the buff means naked. I think she'd KNOW if she were naked. She'd have goose bumps.

My problem is finding pants that don't end right at or above my ankles. It's gotten easier with current fashions, though. It's almost impossible for me to find shirts that are actually long sleeved, and don't end 3-4 inches above my wrist. Sometimes I HATE having long limbs.

My grandma had high blood pressure. At her heaviest, which was while she was pregnant, she weighed just over 100 lbs. she was 95 lbs when she married my grandpa, and somewhere in the 80 lbs range when she died. She was also a smoker with diabetes who developed heart disease, had a stroke, and had to have her gall bladder removed.

High blood pressure. High cholesterol. Diabetes. Thyroid problems. Arthritis. Hard cartilage. Water on the joints. Obesity. They all run in my family.

I do what I can in the way of preventative measures, now. I familiarize myself with the symptoms. There's really not much else to do.

Some problems, like high blood pressure can be triggered, or get worse, with weight gain. So many problems develop the heavier you get.

I'm pretty sure there'd still be SOMEONE who managed to get pregnant.

If you're just looking to prevent pregnancy, than gay sex accomplishes that amazingly well.

    Ditto.

Then again, in order to have a pregnancy scare, I'd have to have sex with a guy. Not really a habit of mine.

Actually, having sex isn't a habit of mine, either. That's depressing.

Don't worry, I'm with you there, and that goes for either sex, though I do prefer the men.

They're too smart for their own good. A few of them are already starting to stand a little when they walk. That's not supposed to happen until about 3 weeks. They'll be 2 weeks tomorrow.

Edith is a wonderfully attentive mother, as long as they're in the nest. If one manages to crawl out, she ignores them as they lay on the floor, crying. I have to put them back, or she would just leave them there.
