Okay, pictures taken with underwater disposable camera.

These were taken 14 years ago, so I'm sure the quality of cameras out there is much better now.

Rod can't swim, which is why I wrote what I did under his picture.

The way that the reef is, everyone floats. That's the first time in his life that he went into a body of water and didn't walk in or out. ;)

I really should post pictures of my legs after that particular excursion. Coral and Alty don't mix.

Have I ever told you that I have a fear of fish? Really! I do! I'm not fond of swimming in water with fish. I'm better now, but back then I was positively phobic!

There are tons of fish in that area. You can feed them. They're not afraid of people, blasted things. You can buy food at the concession and they'll eat out of your hands! I wish someone had told me that before we went.

Anyway, the further out you go, the bigger the fish. So, being adventurous and wanting to overcome my phobia, we went as far out as we could (without Rod drowning). I'm taking pictures and feeling pretty darn good because I have the protection of the camera (yes, my mind works that way, and if I close my eyes the boogy man won't see me!) when I spot a huge black fish with teeth the size of my fingers! Okay, it may have been smaller then that, but water magnifies things!

Anyway, I freaked out! I swam over to Rod and literally tried to climb on top of him, screaming "Get me out of the water! Get me out of the water!"

Remember, Rod can't swim, so of course he went under and in true heroic fashion, he tried to pry my arms off his back so he could save himself.

He gave up after finding out that I my phobia made me much stronger then a drowning man. So he dragged my butt back to shore.

Sadly the waves were coming in and we got knocked around, mainly me, and I ended up getting very scratched up from the coral.

Apparently that's dangerous, can lead to infection and possible amputation.

Damn fish! :(
