I think I am going to go choke my brother... seriously, I'm so mad at him I just want to shake him!

For those of you who might not know, my parents are snowbirds... live 6 months here and 6 months in FL. They drive back and fourth 3500 mls every yr. 5 straight days of driving at least 12 hrs. Well this yr both my parents have had a lot of health probs, my dad really shouldn't be driving anymore. I've driven with him just in town, and believe me it isn't pretty!
So, they are leaving this Thurs, and my bro has decided to buy some 18' boat and he wants my parent to go pick it up and tow it back for him. (my bro can't even afford his child support, but he can get a toy) My parent also bought themselves a new vehicle while down there this time, and they were going to tow one behind the other, and my mom was going to do most of the driving. Well now, since my Dad still thinks he's 20, and my bro must think he is too, my parents are going to drive 2 separate vehicles!

My mom has been calling me crying, and just stressed right out thinking about the trip, and my Dad pulling a boat behind him without her to watch other traffic.

So I called my bro and told him to get his own damn boat up here, and that he is stressing Mom and Dad right out! So he calls my Dad... Dad says it's no biggie, and my bro calls me and tells me... I don't know what your prob is... Dad doesn't have a prob with it... UUUURRRRGGGGHHHHH!

Sorry that was so long guys! ;)

Oh Starby, I can definitely see where you would want to ring your brothers neck!
Tell him if you can call him again, that they are just saying that so they can make him happy. They really shouldn't be doing this, no way no way!. Darn men and the "I think I can handle anything " mind! Damn it anyway! Sorry I almost went on my own rant!:)
Hang in there Starby, maybe something will come up mysteriously and they won't be able to do it! Hugs sweet heart!

My mom always call me and tells me what she thinks, and vents on me... but for some ridiculous reason, even though my brother has been screwing up so bad in the last few yrs. (cheated on his wife, got another girl pregnant, had to sell his house before the back foreclosed... etc etc.) my mom treats him like an angel. He's 40 yrs old for crying out loud. But my parents walk on egg shells around him and just can't tell him no... FOR ANYTHING!

Ah, the baby-of-the-family syndrome... I have experience in dealing with this.

... Can't you just tell your father you forbid him in doing this, as his actions are worrying you and your mother?

Thanks Starty!! It's just so darn frustrating. I did tell my brother ahead of time (well in a message because he never answers his phone) to try and find another way to get the boat home, and to try and make up some sort of excuse why Dad didn't have to go get it. I told him that he knows how stubborn Dad is, and he thinks he can do anything, so he would have to come up with a story.

Did he do that?. of course not. Before talking to me, he called Dad and said that I had called him and that I was worried. Well of course my Dad just chuckled and told my bro... well you know your sister, she worries about everything. Things will be fine!

Then I got an email from my mom saying... thanks, but it didn't work, your Dad will be towing the boat back after all.

He doesn't sound too clever starby , I'd strangle him as well. If your Dad seems to say to him its OK why don't you tell him to ask your Mum what she thinks.

He won't listen Sneeze. Like I said, he doesn't realise, well doesn't want to admit that he can't handle it. He's stubborn as hell!

Oh those damn men. This sounds so farkin familiar. I am so mad at your brother right now! LOL, Calm down Start!
Tell Mom to drive in front of not behind Dad. I suppose this is the best advice to give, she can control the speed and the easy access to parking lots and such! Goodness Starby, I am so sorry!

He did talk to my mom, Friend. My Mom has no backbone around my bro either though... she just backs down and says... well it will all be fine! It's just insane! She can't, or doesn't tell my bro the way it is. So then my bro thinks... oh it's just Starby over-reacting again. That's not how Mom really feels... Starby is just making this S#*T up!

Thanks you guys! Yeah, I guess I'll just have to hope for the best. Mom did say she is going to make sure she drives in front, and she is going tomorrow to buy walkie talkies and new cell phones. It's just when they get into places like Atl, or through Nashville,. all of the crazy freeways and such, it might not be so easy for them to stay together!

I know! I drove down there yrs ago following my mom, in a big truck, and we lost each other completely!

And now with all the tornadoes and floods in the places they have to go through just makes it so much worse!

I cleaned house today and I worked tonight, got home at 10 and I am not sleepy but know I will not want to wake up if I don't go to bed. See that is the problem with working nights! I normally am a 9 or 9:30 bedtime girly, but the nights I work, well I can't get settled or tired until about midnight or even after. I need to do something about this!
It leaks into the other nights that I don't work now... HELP ME!! :)
