Hi NM, I've been getting by, sort of :)
It has been a long time, how are you?

I'm good; it's a new year so hopefully I can breathe again. Things got pretty wild and wooly for a while but the storm is over. :)
Hi, all. :)
NM, did you get anything out the Winter Weather?
Red, we were supposed to get at very least a dusting, but nature had fun with the meteorologists and we got nothing. Made my daughter happy. She didn't want to miss any school today. They started Midterms.
Oh gosh no Cat, we didn't get a thing! They'd salted the roads and I didn't see 1 flake! That's fine with me though because I hate wintry weather. Everything shuts down and then of course here in Carolina we get that awful melt-refreeze-melt-refreeze cycle that seems to last for weeks. Bah.
Did y'all get anything down your way?
Congrats on 2000 posts Red... you've been a busy little bee since April. :)
Me on the other hand...
No fear there cat,I'm a big chicken when it comes to driving on icy roads..
As an aside, there was a young man (18) in the next town, slipped on the pavement, cracked his skull, died two days later...
The a&e departmant here is out to the washers with falls and sprains.
Same here red, have they started rationing grit yet in your area?
I hope you don't have to drive much, especially with the weather like this
Rationing grit! There's a bloody war on with the county councils, there was NO grit for a few days, and when it came they only did the main roads, not the smaller roads or paths which were deadly..
The army offered help to get to old people and people stranded but they were told no thanks.. its a joke really.
I know, it's the same here, although the main roads are barely passable it doesn't look like they've gritted anywhere
I don't blame you being scared of ice, I've driven in ice storms where the roads had 1-2" of solid ice. I've driven when LONG double-decker bridges on interstaes were iced over and I've driven where the bridge in front of you was iced and the roads were clear. I made it. The car behind me panicked and ended up crashed into the bridge.
I was about 17" and slipped on a patcch of ice on a curve, It was tough re-gaining control of the car. FUN. Learned lesson early. Now it doesn't bother me.
Cop told me to get off the road and I found him on a snowbank hen I returned.
I guy did donuts in front of a donut shop. About 4 of us avoided him. Then one idiot hit every one of us. There were no cops in the donut shop, so when we called, they said why don't you come to us which was maybe a mile down the road.
I don't mind it any more. Deep mud is MUCH more difficult to get out of. Trust me!
Hi! I'm here.
I'm drinking Pepsi.
It's good.
Fair play for keeping your head,I think I would have just cried.
Thankfully the winters here are mostly just lashing rain, this is the worse freeze we have had in 15 years or more.. people just don't know how to deal with it.
It does sound like fun KISS, I haven't been out in the snow and ice in my car, because of my age my car insurance is high, and if I crash its only going to get higher, which I can't really afford :o
Hi muddy
I'm drinking pepsi too
Its slightly flat :(
Ah hell, is everyone on the wagon!
Please tell me your at least typing in your underwear!
Have fun muddy...
