Maybe we should change our avatars. Just think of how the women would respond.

Bear, watch it, I remember that circus. Of course I was knee high to a grasshopper when they came around, but still, I remember.
Be good, I'm feeling about weird about turning 40 in less than two weeks. :(
I didn't think this would bother me, but it does. Whoda thunk? Age is just a number, you're only as young as you feel, blah, blah, blah, but the truth is, I feel 40. :(
Sigh. Ya, I'm feeling sorry for myself again. What happened to my 20's? Where did the 30's go? Before you know it I'll be 6 feet under, only a memory.
Again... sigh, and a :: pout, pout, pout:: thrown in for good measure.
How much respect do I get at 40, because so far it's not working. ;)
I'll get over it, but wait until I turn 50, I may be in a corner sucking my thumb and crying. No offense to those over 50. :o
I just feel too young to be 40. The 20 something's don't help. Sneezy has been calling me old for 3 years now, little bugger. I did remind him that when he's 40, my little Syd will be his age now. :)
Sorry about making you feel old alty :)
If it makes you feel any better I doubt ill make it to 40 so you got me there :D
LOL! No, I can't Kit. I do have a nice pension awaiting me from the insurance company I worked for, but other than that, I get nothing. I haven't worked often enough, or long enough (since the kids were born) to collect anything.
It's the RRSP's I'm relying on, and a lottery win. ;)
Of course you'll make it to 40 silly bear.
Also, you still have to come visit me. You promised. Bella is coming next year for 2 weeks, I'm excited, my first AMHD visitor.
All my friends have an open invitation, if they don't mind sleeping on a pull out couch with the bunnies. Not literally with the bunnies. They won't be in the bed with you, but they'll be in the same room. On the bright side, the pull out couch is in our family room, nice size TV, wii and xbox access, a fireplace, and your own bathroom (well, you have to share it with Jared but it has a jucuzzi (sp?) tub).
So, any takers?
I think it's the same as a pension plan, isn't it?
I've never heard of ssi, so no, I don't think we have it.
We barely have pension anymore. Nowadays it's up to the individual to save for retirement because there's no guarantee that you'll get anything for working your arse off for 40 plus years. That's why there are so many 80 year olds working in McDonalds. They can't afford to retire. :(
In the U.S. we have pension plans (private) and SSI (government). The government one takes money from your paycheck and it doesn't matter if you want them to or not. Private pension plans are totally voluntary. Some companies offer them as an incentive. And after those are retirement savings plans you may have heard of like 401k.
