It was 76 here 2 days ago also. That's the way our weather is. We'll have a bright, sunny, warm day followed 2 days later by snow. I remember last year we were in the 90's one week and snowing the next.

Anyway, the ski resorts are getting lots of snow. Yea!

    I agree with you.
He doesn't see it that way though.
Oh well. Not my problem. I worked it out to be part time here until he replaced me. But he has two weeks to do that or else the doors will be locked every day. That's how I worked it out with the new job. He wanted me ASAP but didn't want to screw another local business taking me away.

I live in Northern Nevada, the foothills of Reno. I'm only 15 minutes to the nearest ski resort and less than an hour to the premier Lake Tahoe ski resorts.

    I agree with you.
I am now going to be part time here for a couple weeks. If he doesn't replace me by then so be it. His store will be closed. That's how I worked it with the new place. He didn't want me to leave without notice here so we talked and came up with this idea of part time. The new job thought of it mainly.

OK stress level raised because I am sure I will have two weeks of h$ll now but it will be over soon enough.

Now to the gym. I will be back. Later guys. Thanks for always listening to my ranting.

I see, our road trip took us to New Mexico, Texas, Arizona and Utah this past summer, very, very nice and hot.

He's being selfish. I'm glad you stuck to your guns. Two weeks - that will be Thanksgiving. You'll have a lot to be thankful for this year. :)

I have to fly to Denver for a couple of days right before Thanksgiving, and then we are going to Michigan for Thanksgiving. John's other grandparents live there and were not able to make the wedding for health reasons, so we are going to visit. It will be the first time I've met them.

That is nice, nothing like going to family for Thanksgiving. I'm sure that they will love you.

Arizona is a beautiful state but so hot. Did you go to Bryce Canyon in Utah? It's one of my favorite places.

I'm going to make sure of that. I love to cook, so I'm making the dinner and baking pies. I'm known for my pies, especially.

No, we only had three days there. We were in Moab, did the dinner and night river tour with all the lights and of course like all the other places... shopping. :)

Thank you unky. It was a great work out today.

JLo tell me you make apple and pumpkin pies and I am there with you. Yummy. First pie I ever made was out of an Elvis cook book (giggling) and it turned out awesome. Made the crust from scratch even.

I make any kind of pie someone asks for. :) For some reason, I have a hard time with lemon meringue, though. I wonder if it's my high altitude (5200 feet). I think I'll go Google that question. Can you tell - I'm not in the mood to work. :o

Work? I just show up. Lol So sad. I can't wait to have a real job again. I have been so bored here. I can't wait to be busy and pulling my hair out. That's how I work best.

I am not a good baker. But I can cook a mean turkey or steak or any meal really. Not baking.

What makes the turkey mean? Do you torture it first?

    Okay, lame joke.

I read a tip about cooking turkey a few years back. It works quite well. Start by baking the turkey breast side down so all the juices are flowing through the breast. Don't turn it over until the last hour of baking. The white meat comes out so moist.

    Lol good one from Jlo.

I don't know but its always been so moist and tasty. I cover it with all kinds of spices. I have no idea what and its always different. I put a stick of butter in the inside, no dressing. When it starts cooking really good and smelling good I slice each side of the breast and put chunks of butter in the slits down deep. The entire time I do that I am always spooning the melted butter and juices over the top. Must work because I have always had the best turkey. I love cooking them.

It's making me hungry. I don't use butter, but I rub olive oil over mine before putting it in the oven.

You do know Italy. I've been twice now. I went there for 3 weeks when I graduated with my Bachelor's and now this 10 day trip. I've been thru most of Italy except the southern part (went maybe 20 miles down the Amalfi coast and besides that Sorrento was as far south as I got). I also haven't been to Sicily, but I think I'd like to go there someday.

Never been to Sicily yet... depending on how we time the trip we have a place to stay outside Palermo. Good friends of ours are from there and own a property there. I've only been much south of Rome twice. I know the Tuscany Region very well. Parts of that VERY, very well. But I've been all over much of the northern half. Sienna a few times... Firenze (Florence) a LOT. Have a Doctor friend with a Practice there. I know the Massa-Carrera and Pisa area VERY well (famous for marble).. and the coast from there down to Grosseto like the back of my hand. Because... like I said... I used to live and work there. Had lots of time to learn the area.

Good afternoon or whatever it is wherever you are.

So, it has been some pretty interesting days here at the landfill where I work. Supposedly, there is a body buried in the trash. They are on day 2 of the search. I have never seen so many cops, and forensic people, and news stations. I am hoping for everyone's sake they find the body soon.
