Yes, Start, got to stay with Mom a few extra days. It just seems that she has a hard time right before I go.

This is the hardest part for me.

Thanks Myth, it is CurlyBen slapping me through the computer cause I can't get anything geeky right. LOL

Start, I am so sorry you will have to be going through something similar soon. It really isn't easy. I guess because I was so far away (distance) and that Dad was in the hospital for so long that it was a little easier for me. I spent many a night crying to my husband before the fact.

My folks would have been married 50 years this October.

Woooo Hoooo!! Looks like I'm finally getting out tonight!! I can't wait!!

Not that I want to leave Mom, I don't. But I have never seen NYC and I have never seen my sister's new house with her new hubby. Well, I have known her hubby for a while now, he is the best man for her I have ever seen. But I have never seen their home that was a wedding present to them.

Oh, I am going to have so much fun tonight, then I will be home by tomorrow at this time!!

    Yay, it's finally working out!!

My poor daughter! Yesterday I was talking to her on the phone and she was disappointed that she could not pick me up at the airport (major cheerleading camp with the USA team), I said, "hun it's only been two weeks, not a lifetime...We will have a lifetime together."

She broke my heart and said

"Well, Mom, 2 weeks feels like a lifetime to me." Awwwwww, my precious little flower!!

See how much you are loved. Nice to hear that. Last night for some reason my daughter was standing right next to me and asked the same question 3 times and I still never answered her. I do not know where my mind was I swear I was spacing out and she broke down in tears and told me I have done that to her more than once this week. I felt so bad I was probably holding and huging her for ten minutes straight. Poor girl needs her mamas attention and I failed. I truly did and I told her I was sorry that it wasn't her, it was me and everything going on lately! Sheesh I felt so bad but we are OK now that we had our promise of love and the ten minute squeeze!

Sometimes it is life's little lessons like that that make us stand up and pay attention.

I am so glad to hear that everything is okay now.

I hope she does well at the cheer thing, that can get quit spendy huh? My cousin does it in California and wins all sorts of tourny"s
  • Jun 18, 2007, 12:25 PM

Yes, it is rather spendy. So because of that I told her that she needed to try out for the school team first and do that for a year before doing the competetive cheer. Cheerleading for the football and basketball team at school is pretty spendy too.

I don't particularly agree with competitive cheer, but if she wants to do it she has to wait until I graduate and start working then help with the expenses.

Good idea. I know my sons are in POP Warner, we just switched to kid sports because there are too many "politics" in that organization. Glad to here she is active and trying her best!

Hey, get your finger out of there! Instead of picking them out, let's learn about those little blobs. Yeah, we're talking about boogers.

To understand what boogers are, you need to know about mucus (say: myoo-kus). Mucus is the sticky, slimy stuff that's made inside your nose. If you're like lot of kids, you have another name for nose mucus: snot. Your nose and sinuses make about a quart (about 1 liter) of snot every day.

Mucus has a pretty important job - it protects the lungs. When you breathe in air through your nose, it contains lots of tiny things, like dust, dirt, germs, and pollen. If these made it all the way to the lungs, the lungs could get irritated or infected, making it be tough to breathe. Luckily, snot helps trap this stuff, keeping it in the nose and out of the lungs.

After this stuff gets stuck inside the nose, the mucus surrounds it and some of the tiny hairs inside the nose called cilia (say: sih-lee-uh). These hairs help move the mucus and the trapped stuff toward the front of the nose or the back of the throat. When the mucus, dirt and other debris dry and clump together, you're left with a booger. Boogers can be squishy and slimy or tough and crumbly. Everybody gets them, so they're not a big deal. In fact, boogers are a sign that your nose is working the way it should!

If you have to get rid of boogers, your best bet is to blow 'em out of your nose and into a tissue. Picking your nose isn't a great idea because boogers contain lots of germs and because poking around in your nose can make it bleed.

I hate those depo questions... and the dr's for not telling people about the side effects in the first place... I think the dr's have to be getting a kick back from the drug companies to have women use such an awful birth control. Ok... I think I'm done venting... For now anyway
