But if I did the read ups then I would be the all knowing all seeing stringer.

And,well, you would just be the guy that used to do it.

It just would not be the same...

Yea, that would make things more simple. So how did your cookout thing go Stringer?
As you see I didn't do all my reading up earlier. I tried but kept falling asleep. Haha

HI Adam, exhausting, expensive, too many drunk, but we all had a great time. Thanks for asking...

My apologies - I've just followed a link from Alty to here. I've just had one helluva noisy welcome party, thanks to you guys, and we needed to move things to the Lounge - but the link brought me specifically to here. Oddly, before I even posted any reply in my 'Hi' thread, I was reading about this wonderful lady 'Starby.' I really do wish I had joined here earlier and had the pleasure of knowing her.

I'm not too good at 'You Tube' links, but isn't there a song about 'Castles in the Sky' ? Maybe it's already been linked here, but I just felt I wanted to mention it, as this good lady Starby seemed to have a love for such romantic edifices. I shouldn't be posting here, as a stranger and a newbie, I know - but I have seen what an impact this lady has had on peeps here, and I cannot be silent about that.

You're more then welcome here Bill. :)

Starby was a great lady. For some background, we've been doing our little chat threads for a long time now. Each thread has a limit of 1500 posts, then the mods shut it down. Starby's favorite theme was the castle, so this thread is in her memory. :)

    Also, she loved music. :)

Thanks AGAIN for your kindness, guys. I must seem to have an unhappy knack of being in the wrong place at the wrong time, I know. Maybe I'm being a drama queen, but I'm in tears, here - literally. Yeah, OK. I've had a drink, so I'm 'tired and emotional.' I'm not an alcoholic - YET. But I drive for a living, and I drive PEOPLE. I DO have a drink habit, though, and I CANNOT hit the sack at night if I'm sober. Seven days a week - no detox break for my liver & kidneys. I have been like this for some time, and I keep telling myself I'll pack it all in soon - but I never do.

I haven't thoroughly read through every post, but I scanned through, and found that 'Jo' had tripped on a shovel. I needed to know what was the cause of her sad death for some reason. I followed this thread further, and found the true sadness surrounding Jo's death.

Look, you guys - I might seem like I'm attention-seeking, or headline-grabbing. Think what you will, it matters not, in the end. I followed a link here tonight from another friend whom I know cares for me - (just by natural curiosity). I then followed a link in the sig of someone who welcomed me - Alty (I honestly don't know why!! ). I felt attracted to a woman I had never known - but whose death affected me deeply for some reason. I then got linked to this thread, and learned about castles - and shovels - and the way we often cover up our deepest problems with a veneer of 'trivia.'

I've already said I speak from the heart, and that gets me into trouble sometimes. I truly never expected to be speaking so deeply in my first posts in a new forum. I really feel that Jo has touched me through you guys, and I want to thank you ALL. You don't get forums about alcohol-related problems in the bank charges sites I have been in. If you haven't got one here, then you damn well are going to get one!! I'm sure you have, though - and I'll be in there soon, Thank you all. Thank you, Jo. Maybe - just for once - somebody put me in the right place at the right time, eh ?

    BLESS you, Jo.

I'm a little drowsy myself this morning. Usually when I get on here I am up for a couple hours or so. I am just hoping on the rest of the day being good. The first hour here today was hell.
