How many zeros in a billion?

This is too true to be funny.

The next time you hear a politician use the
Word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about
Whether you want the 'politicians' spending
    YOUR Tax money.
A billion is a difficult number to comprehend,
But one advertising agency did a good job of
Putting that figure into some perspective in
    One of its releases.

    A. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.

    B. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.

    C. A billion hours ago our ancestors were
    Living in the Stone Age.

    D. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.

    E. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, At the rate our government Is spending it.

While this thought is still fresh in our brain, let's take a look at New Orleans It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division

    Louisiana Senator, Mary Landrieu (D),

Is presently asking the Congress for $250 BILLION To rebuild New Orleans . Interesting number,

    What does it mean?

    A. Well, if you are one of 484,674 residents of
New Orleans (every man, woman, child), You each get $516,528.

    B. Or, if you have one of the 188,251 homes in New Orleans , your home gets $1,329,787.

    C. Or, if you are a family of four, your family gets $2,066,012.

Wow, it's been a while Mag, but in quick answer to your post #1319..
Absolutely right! The globe will be better off once it has been cleaned and gets a new chance to produce a more valuable life-form. And I sincerely hope that the DNA for greed will never be reproduced.

Post #1317 was hard reading but very legitimate - eventually the darkness will also be swallowed up into a void and their power will no longer have the influence it has now. But I am not sure it will happen in my time, or within the next decade. I just hope for my offsprings, that the transition is not too elaborate as to cause a diversion from their goal for peace and harmony. This is what I wish for the next generations to come, if they get the chance to find within the difference between greed and a humanly comfortable existence. I tried to connect to the link but was not able to.

Unfortunately there are still forces out there that try to convince us (the people) that we don't count.. and try everything in their power to divert us from real problems by creating diversions on the media. It is time to wake up - and not watch too much biased media coverage.

Magprob, I am so glad that I have the privilege knowing you. It's better late than never to find someone we can have deep and insightful dialogues with. I thank you.

Hi mag, dear. Just dropping in to wish you a nice weekend.

Have a bit of weakness from my cancer and side-effects from the infusion I had yesterday, so I will be scarce for a few days trying to rest up. A lot more doctor's visits to schedule next week, and not really looking forward to it.

As I predicted, a global summit is being announced at which the bankster dictators will tell us their plans for remaking the world economy in their image. Anticipate a new global financial regulatory body (perhaps even a new World Central Bank) and moves in the direction of a World Currency. Please note that participation in such by the United States is predicated upon RATIFICATION by the Congress. If the Banker Dictatorship bypasses this requirement, we can take that as further evidence that the Constitution has in effect been suspended and that dictatorship is a concrete reality in America now.

State and Municipal government bankruptcies are likely within the next few weeks. My guess is that is what the action in the stock market is discounting right now. If you are in Massachusetts or California and rely upon state assistance, please prepare for disruptions.

Each of us must now decide what this means for us. You must make concrete preparations now. We are in an emergency situation, albeit a concocted and engineered crisis. This is an economic 911 and the measures following it are new versions of the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act.

Hey start, please know that when things get rough and you need to talk, you better email me on the spot! I want to know what's bothering my 'warrior' and want to be there for you as much as you've been there for me - please don't forget that. So, keep me updated because I CARE and love you lots! It's a hassle to have to work for someone else - when they have different views on things, but hang in there and try not to let it get to you too much, dear. Just tell me about it and vent.

Hi rpg, hope all is well with you and your's. Taxes get us all down, it's too bad that people cannot get together and fight this - like they did back in history. It would take more than a 'tea party' this time though..

Hi CaptainRich, long time to 'talk'. What? You've got a pool, just give me a few minutes and I'll be right there. I love swimming, just can't find a pool here where I can get to - without having to go through so many things that hinder and the cost to get there - as I need a companion wherever I go from now on. So, can I bring my nurse too?

Mag, we know it's part of the plan to change the currency, that's why the dollar has a competitor in the Euro - it's all planned and it makes me mad as heck. Wish that there were some way to prevent this as preparations have been on the way for so long, but everyone else was too busy to notice - that's where those blinders come into the picture.
And Wow, not used to you being at a loss for words... take a deep breath and collect yourself, I'll be back when you get it together, dear. You too deserve a break today!

    Love, Chery
Hope all have a nice and uneventful weekend!

Dr. Stauffer argued that Iran offers the most economical route for
Caspian oil, which he thought would have a "minor" influence on world
Oil markets. What makes Iran "extremely interesting," he explained, is
    Both "geography and infrastructure."

Iran can offer a "swap deal" where it can absorb Caspian oil in its
Outlying northern part of the country in exchange for similar
Quantities from its oil-rich southern region where it has adequate
Refinery and port facilities for any Caspian oil importers.

But, he maintained, both Russia and the Israeli lobby in the United
States are against this alternative route. The Russians prefer Caspian
Oil to transit their country for the obvious transit fees while the
Israeli lobby wants to act as middlemen for the Iranians with the
    United States.

    Our wonderful leaders throughout history:

History will remember England's Queen Mary I as "Bloody Mary" for burning 300 Protestant "heretics" at the stake during her reign from 1553 to 1558. It's little wonder why Mary got so fired up about religion. She was the first daughter of Henry VIII, who separated England from the Roman Catholic Church and set himself up as the country's highest religious authority -- so he could grant himself a divorce from Mary's mother, the staunchly Catholic Catherine of Aragón. Henry VIII forbade Mary and Catherine from seeing each other during the latter part of Catherine's life. When she eventually became queen, Mary began her reign by sweeping away the religious innovations of her father and restoring most Catholic rituals back to the realm. Mary's Catholic gains were short-lived, however. She died in London on November 17, 1558, and was succeeded by Protestant Elizabeth I.

Countess Erzsébet, or "Elizabeth," Báthory is considered the most prolific female serial killer in history, having murdered an estimated 600 victims between 1602 and 1610. Born in 1560 to Baron George Báthory and Baroness Anna Báthory (the sister of Stephen Báthory, King of Poland), Elizabeth showed signs of madness at an early age. But it wasn't until after her husband died in 1604 that she is said to have started atrociously torturing young girls in earnest with the help of four servants. Allegedly, it was after striking a young maid that Elizabeth noticed the girl's blood on her hands helped reduce the signs of aging on her skin. Although she was never convicted of any crime, Elizabeth's family eventually saw her as a disgrace and walled her up in a room at her home, Čachtice Castle. After three years of imprisonment Elizabeth died in 1614. She was buried at her birthplace at Ecsed because Čachtice locals did not want such a monster interred in their parish.

Tamerlane, a 14th-century Turkic ruler and conqueror, rose to power in 1370 when he gained control of Transoxiana (roughly corresponding to present-day Uzbekistan). He eventually established an empire that reached from India to the Mediterranean Sea. On his distant expeditions, where his purpose was only to loot and strike terror, he ordered atrocities that are still remembered. At Eşfahān (Isfahan), in Iran, which had rebelled after surrendering in 1387, he massacred 70,000 people and constructed towers of their skulls. In 1398 at Delhi, in India, he had 100,000 Hindu inhabitants slaughtered and the city razed. After reportedly preparing a massive invasion of China, Tamerlane died in 1405 near Otrar, in present-day Kazakhstan. Tamerlane's empire began to break apart immediately after his death. Despite his taste for atrocities, he is considered a national hero in Uzbekistan.

Of his six wives, Henry VIII only executed Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard. One of Henry's biggest anxieties as a monarch was his inability to produce a male heir. This he blamed on his first wife, Catherine of Aragón. When the mesmerizing and politically shrewd Anne Boleyn, a Protestant, caught Henry's eye he tore the political and religious landscape of England apart to divorce Catherine and marry Anne. Despite the torrid romance, Henry tired of Anne and her inability to give him a son. His adviser, Thomas Cromwell, and other conspirators concocted a series of phony allegations against Anne, further turning Henry against her. She was convicted of high treason and beheaded. Henry's next wife, Jane Seymour, died while giving birth to Edward VI. Henry divorced his fourth wife, Anne of Cleves, and executed Catherine Howard, his fifth wife, for adultery. His sixth wife, Catherine Parr, outlived Henry, who died in 1547. In addition to his ill-fated wives, more than 300 people were executed for treason under Henry's rule -- most for rebelling against the new religious order.

The fifth emperor of Rome, Nero Claudius Caesar Drusus Germanicus killed his mother, Agrippina the Younger, in A.D. 59 for her criticism of his mistress, Poppaea Sabina. In A.D. 62 he divorced (and later executed) his first wife, Octavia, and married Poppaea. Eventually he killed Poppaea too -- by kicking her to death. He then married Statilia Messalina after executing her husband. Besides killing people close to him, Nero is also known for torturing and killing scores of Christians, including the apostles Peter and Paul. Not very popular even among his own people, Nero enjoyed burning, crucifying and impaling Christians, whom he blamed for the great fire in A.D. 64 that destroyed much of Rome. In A.D. 68 the Gallic and Spanish legions, along with the Praetorian Guards, rose against Nero, and he fled Rome. Declared a public enemy by the Senate, he committed suicide on June 9, A.D. 68.

At the request of Ferdinand V and Isabelle I, Pope Sixtus IV appointed three inquisitors to deal with heretics and other offenders against the church in 1478 -- this marked the beginning of the Spanish Inquisition, which wouldn't fully be suppressed until 1834. The Inquisition targeted non-Christians, especially Marranos, Jews who had insincerely converted to Christianity for their own security. In time, the Spanish Inquisition became synonymous with cruelty and obscurantism. Some torture methods used to make people confess their heresy included slowly dislocating their joints via a pulley apparatus called the garrucha or strappado; the toca, which gave the victim the impression of drowning, somewhat like modern-day water boarding; and the rack, another device that slowly dislocated joints. An estimated 2,000 people were burned at the stake and some 15,000 were reconciled by 1490, only 10 years into the Inquisition.

THE CREATORS OF NAZISM STRIKE AGAIN DEPT.

Read this straight-forward account of the looting of the US banking system and understand that it has all happened before and by the same families and corporations. For those of you who have read my new book, The Rise of the Fourth Reich, you will immediately recall that it was J.P. Morgan and National City Bank (now Citicorp) that helped provide the financial foundation for Adolf Hitler and his Nazis in pre-war Germany. What started as the demise of one Viennese bank in 1931 soon blossomed into the failure of the entire German banking system, an event that drove fearful middle-class Germans right into the arms of the Nazis. We are now seeing a repeat of this methodology of first bankrupting a nation and then seizing dictatorial control. One of the few differences this time around is that the globalist fascists controllers have learned not to give power to one individual. They might lose control as they did with Stalin and Hitler. When the more recent President John F. Kennedy began to be too popular, his reign was ended.

FEDERAL BAILOUT TURNS INTO A LICENSE TO PLUNDER

    By Joel Skousen
    World Affairs Brief
    October 10, 2008

The same insider financiers who brought the world to the brink of financial collapse are now gobbling up the remaining sound assets of failing banks under the guise of saving the system. In giving unrestricted power to Treasury Secretary Paulson to decide arbitrarily whose debts the US government will rescue, Congress has unwittingly given him the power to decide which banks survive and which will be allowed to fail.

Paulson's remarks this week that "additional banks will fail," is all too telling. If we had access to the details, which we don't (and won't), we would see that those banks designated to fail are not being allowed to have access to government bailout funds. Only the larger, insider-connected banks on Wall Street are having their toxic debts exchanged so that they have the liquidity to buy out the failing banks at pennies on the dollar. The FDIC is complicit in this as they seize banks they don't rescue and then conveniently designate another favored bank to come in and "rescue" the failing bank--instead of allowing the open market to freely bid on the remaining sound assets. The result is a massive shift of ownership of the remaining good debt from failed bank stockholders to the insider-connected banks and investment firms who created this mess.

This crisis has nothing to do with saving Main Street--it's all about enriching those who drove the system into bankruptcy and establishing a permanent shift in financial power to government agencies staffed by former executives of these insider institutions.

As Bill Butler wrote this week on LewRockwell.com, the real purpose of the bailout "is to transfer wealth to Citibank and JP Morgan from the US taxpayer and Wachovia and Washington Mutual equity holders." Then Butler correctly assails the raiding of Washington Mutual assets by the FDIC and handing them over to JP Morgan Chase.

"In the week prior to the passage of the bailout, the federal government, through the FDIC and the Office of Thrift Services, forced the transfer of $307 billion in Washington Mutual assets (including at least $34 billion in non-performing loans) to JP Morgan for $1.9 billion. The FDIC also 'facilitated' the future transfer of more than $300 billion in assets (including at least $42 billion in non-performing loans) from Wachovia to Citibank.

"There can be little question about how the FDIC 'facilitated' these deals. In these gun-to-their-head transactions, the FDIC brought the gun. The FDIC, as the regulator of WaMu and Wachovia, has the worldly power to shutter these banks, liquidate their assets and sell those assets over to whomever it desires. As it is neither a buyer nor a seller, it brings nothing more than regulatory leverage to such a transaction. In facilitating the JP Morgan--WaMu deal, the FDIC first wrestled WaMu to the ground, executing a midnight foreclosure and repossession of all its assets. The FDIC fire sale essentially wiped out the WaMu equity holders, including a group that had invested $7 billion six months ago [obviously not insiders]. Monday JP Morgan further announced that had no intention of hiring or retaining WaMu management."

Now it becomes perfectly clear why Goldman Sachs and other Wall Street investment banks decided suddenly to change their status from the narrowly structured investment banks to full purpose banks--it allows them to join JP Morgan in vacuuming up billions in good debt from failing banks that Sec. Paulson refused to bailout. Slick. As former Asst. Sec. to the Treasury Paul Craig Roberts warned, "One consequence of the ongoing financial crisis is financial concentration. It is not inconceivable that the US will end up with four giant banks: J.P. Morgan Chase, Citicorp, Bank of America, and Wachovia Wells Fargo."
