If it didn't change, we all would not have had the chance to know each other:) I am happy for it. I miss some of the "older" posters, but love lots of the new ones.

    So true Starty.

If you all hadn't accepted me when I first posted in the old P&B thread I wouldn't know any of you.

New is good, change is good. All of us were new once.

Love AMHD. I suspect I always will.

Hey all! NM, she accepted the trade. Her reply was not so clear though. I tried using an online translator, and I'm waiting for the next reply.

Bear! I've got some pictures at last! :)

Nice :), are the first two pictures where it has claws the same one?

And does the bottom one (without the claws) do something different?

I like how its got little eyes at the front and sort of reminds me of the robot johnny5 from the short circuit movies:D

Hi start, how's your weekend going ? :)

I am going to try and pick up the house a little... go out to the garden a little and relax a little. I stopped by a neighbors house, she was having a garage sale and I took a dvd player and a vcr from her, she wasn't sure if they work... so she just gave it to me. I just tried the VCR, it works and the kids are so happy. We have all the old VHS tapes, and I bagged them and I was going to take them to donate... the boys were so upset about all their older disney movies... so now MOM SAVED THE DAY!! I feel pretty good right now.

What are your plans? Did you have yer meeting yet? If so, how was it?
  • Jun 6, 2009, 10:13 AM

All right, well keep me informed, I got to take care of my bickering kids... this may not be such a good day, lets see if I can get it turned in the right direction... Hugs all!

I thought you'd manage to quell the animosity with the video player? Guess that was short lived :)

    Have fun, cya later :D

Love old Disney movies, nothing like them.

When Jared was little he fell in love with "Jungle Book" he'd beg to watch it over and over and over again.

I know that movie by heart, front to back, including all the songs. It's permanently seared into my brain.

Hi Bear bum, hi Adam, Unky, Stringer and Starty.

    Hi everyone! :)

Hey Bear, Starty and Stringer! Shazzy, I'm the one in the middle of the second photo!

Bear, those are the same. Just that we made a program for the robot so that it can move around the room without bumping into obstacles put in front of it. It uses its 'eyes' which emit ultrasound, and can thus determine distances. The claws prevented it from making sharp turns, and so had to be removed.

Yup, Starty, the initial idea was to create robots so that they can be used in he lives of people and do chores, keep a watch on the house, do some simple things such as to bring a glass of water, the papers, etc.

You're a good looking guy Unky. Ladies, watch out! :)

I'll take two robots please. Can you teach them to clean out bunny cages and do laundry?
  • Jun 6, 2009, 10:42 AM
    Unknown008

That's only the vehicle form of the robot. During the weekdays, we made another form, the machine form. One like a crane. I could lift things and put them on specific places, unfortunately, there were not enough motors to make it move, so it was kind of... 'rooted to the spot".

The upcoming week, we'll build up the animal form. The animal will be a scorpion. The work plan seems long (about 70 steps) but the final result looks great in the manual.

Then, we'll do the humanoid robot. That'll be our 'chery on the cake'.

Hi Alty and Unky how you doing :)

Well, Starty, all I hope is that we win the competition... a cash prize of 25,000 rupees, that makes around $710. The robot parts themselves cost around $220.
