Knitting... suhweet that had to be a real good time lol
I s u c k αt fishing. I'm so bαd αt it the fishing pole is still αt the bottom of the lαke-boo
Yeah budgets suck... I have a tendency to be an impulsive shopper, and people don't like it that I might spend a little more money on the car than them... (namely my girlfriend). But like I always say, you can't show love in money...
Don't worry, I suck at being an outdoorsmen, I can't hunt, fish, or build a fire without a liter, I was a boyscout for a week though...
Yeα right the first dαy of knitting I got frustrαded αnd threw them αnd I went shopping to buy α knitted hαt.. hαhα
I would rather be camping... or reading. Or BOTH!
Secret---- I've never gone cαmping [nor hαve the intention]----
LOL nice... that reminds me the time I tried to paint... I bought a bunch of stuff, paints, the thing that holds up the picture, and what not. Hours pass away, and my picasso's look like kindergarten paintings, yeah that stuff found it's way back to the garage...
I do enjoy camping, I like that feeling of being outdoors and what not. However, I have a tendency to bring too many home items... but it really can be enjoyable, just do it during the summer when the weather is nice...
Yesss! I went through thαt phαse-- my pαints αre αccompαnying (if thαts α word) the knitting stuff.
As I don't have an artistic bone in my body... I will stick to camping.
But I will do it in my camper with the microwave, bathroom, and fridge. Tenting is just too much work
I think I would have done better, I had grown a french mustache... seems to make you more artistic... or I could have cut off an ear...
It's not thαt I hαte nαture but sleeping in α sleeping bαg- ouch αnd mosquitos- αgh.. no thαnkyou.. I'd get α cαbin insteαd.. Not the dinky oo look I built it myself but I meαn more like lodge type.. yes.. :) then I would go cαmping
It's really not that bad if you go to some nice places... like northern cali, or if you go up to Washington and camp it's beautiful up there. What I like about camping, is the sense of community you get when you see all of your tents built and everyone around the campfire it's a humbling experience...
Hey now
I could put α tent outside my lodge;)
Good point lolQuote:

That's called pulling the mom card lol
Well guys, thanks for sticking around and having a chat with me, it's definitely been a while for me. Sadly the rain has stopped and my day is beckoning, I hope everyone has a good day and I will be sure to visit later... peace out guys
Hey, hey, hey, don't this the highly respected, highly beloved, "Mom Card"! It has served me well!
Oh heck no!! No tents for me! I need my queen size bed with the TV in the wall. Now that is camping. Camping on my terms means a camper with heat and AC. As well as a freezer full of ice so that I can make myself a nice cocktail... could use one right now actually.
I say use the Mom card. It is the most powerful one in the deck!!
Tuscany,
My wife's famous quote: "Why camp if there's a perfectly good Sheraton nearby?"
Ladies, let us not forget the joy of camping outside a Nordstrom's the night before the fabulous Anniversary Sale!!
My idea of camping is a 3 room tent on the Kenai River in Alaska.
Ahh J-9.
That is even a bit roughing it for me.
Where would I plug in my hair dryer... and I do so need my coffee pot in the morning.
I'm with NK on this one.
And yeah... no coffee is BAD. You wouldn't like me when I don't have coffee.
Ya don't need a hair dryer...
Plug in a coffee pot? Get a kettle and put it over the fire!!
Oh, I make the best camp coffee in the world!!
J_9,
I would be willing to try it for an hour or so, but could we have someone on standby to come and get me when I am having a hissy fit, cause I am cold, tired and hungry??
I like my coffee without the ashes... I do go old fashion though... its a perkalator from Great Grandma.
Y'know they have those voltage inverters for cars now where your lighter plug becomes a regular 120 volt outlet - you could plug in any electrical device that you want. There's your Plan B. :D
I used to feel the same way you all do until I got introduced to real Alaska Camping. Now I will never go back!
Who said anything about ashes in the coffee. Apparently I didn't make it. LOL
You need just the right pot and have your campfire configured so that it is coffee and barbecue ready. Just little camping tricks I have picked up along the way.
And you have your special honey to keep you warm at night. Jeez, no wonder I have 4 kids :o
J_9,
It must be nice and I think I could maybe do a night or two... buuuuuut, then only thing I think would get to me, is the BUGS. Ick. Eeek and ooooook.
But I bet it is an amazing experience.
So I will meet you in Alaska sometime. I have a friend who is a teacher there... you need a bush plane to get to her village... I am sure we could find some wilderness there :)
I've done every kind of camping there is... from a fully decked out RV to survivalist camping where you have to find half your food along the way.
I'd STILL rather have a hotel, a beach, some margaritas, and coffee in the mornings.
What's a bush plane?
It is a tiny tiny plane used to transport people and supplies to northern Alaska. They are used a lot in the winter when the roads (if there are roads) are not cleared.
Kara and her husband grocery shop 2 times a year... can you imagine?
