    Noooo :(
    That mean

The only possible explanation is that J has finally cracked, and the sooner we accept that the better,
Its such a shame to see another one go :(

She is babysitting grandchildren. It could have happened.

But I think it is more the teasing part of her nature that seems to appear at random intervals. :)

    Yeah it seems so :)

I was hoping J would come back and deny being crazy by explaining what's going on.

But it seems she's seen through my little plan ;)

I have a suspicion that the hotel J is at is possibly close to Alty and they might have met up :), that might explain the first comment :D

Feeding babies, typing and trying to play the slots all at once doesn't work well.

Bear, J, currently, is in Mobile, Alabama (Southern Coast of the US). Alty as far as I know is Canada. :)

I wish I was in Mobile, I love that area used to summer there as a child. Sadly, I'm not... I sit here looking at the damage Katria wreaked out of the hotel window while the grandkids are sleeping.

Id have thought it looked a lot better by now, some resemblance of getting society back to normal?
  • Feb 4, 2010, 02:08 PM
    J_9
Yeah, it's looking a bit better but trees are still a mess you can see foundations where homes once stood. The casino resort across the street is nothing but a pile of concrete and steel.

    albear

Wow, you might think I'm being unfair here but shouldn't they have cleared most or all of the damage up by now, I mean I saw a show a couple of years ago and it still pretty much looked the same, and if it is still as bad as it sounds I can't help but wonder why more things aren't happening to help rebuild?
  • Feb 4, 2010, 02:26 PM

It takes money Bear. With all the damage that was done in so many locations it's going to take many more years I'm afraid.

The damaged casino across the street is actually the one I'm staying in... well, not literally, but it was demolished and the resort built a new casino resort (where I am now). That demolished casino is going to be rebuilt and another entity will take it's place.

True, I guess I was thinking that 'america has all that money why haven't they sorted it out sooner'
But as you suggest, there's more to it than that

It's not all about money either. There are only so many people to do these jobs. Many of those people volunteer their time to do this work. They had to go back to their jobs as well. It's just going to take time.

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen. How are we today? You know what today is? Friday! So come out and play with me! Bear, the US doesn't have any money unfortunately. I know when Obama had that hundreds of billions of dollars stimulus thing we had to borrow it from China because we didn't have. America is bad with its money, that's why we are coming out of a recession right now.

I'll be leaving in some... 45 minutes approx.

Well Hey Unky. How are you?

Fine and happy that it's Friday at last. It's been a busy week, and internet failure all those days... ah, yesterday, we had a powerful storm. Lots of rain, lightning, thunder... and a house in the plateau got its roof ripped apart!

Lucky that it was not mine... or my computer won't be working now...
  • Feb 5, 2010, 01:03 PM

Glad it wasn't yours Unk. Hope everything goes good.

The sky is clear now, fortunately, but it's becoming once more hot... :( no use talking about mosquitoes!

    Hi Adam and Unk!

Unk, we too have the terrible weather here in Malaysia. Mosquitoes?? I feel like running away from here :(
  • Feb 5, 2010, 06:41 PM
    Alty

Mosquitoes? I'd welcome them! It's so darn cold here, no bugs of any sort at this time and weather too cold to step outside.

On a bright note, the groundhog where I live didn't see his shadow so spring should be around the corner. If you believe in that stuff. ;)

Do you have something like an electric racket Sergie? I have one, and it is very useful! The only problem is that it can run out of battery, and you have to recharge it sometimes and during that time... you'll be more defenceless...

Alty! If we had 4 seasons here (we have only winter, summer) it'd have been spring right now. And, did you get the fugitive?
  • Feb 5, 2010, 09:56 PM
    Alty

    Fugitive? Did I miss something?

It's getting close to the end of winter here Unky. I hope! ;)

Spring is always nice. I get giddy when the tulips pop out and the grass starts to turn green. :)

Yep, I posted a warning note in the Peeves thread. There is an escaped mouse... it escaped last week. It's dangerous mouse that has been sentenced to life's imprisonment for crimes I dare not say. Also, it really likes to eat paper, especially photographic paper.

He is wanted all over the place here, alive or dead.

    He's here!

He didn't eat photographic paper, just decorative paper that I use for scrapbooking. He made a nest in my scrapbooking supplies! That paper is expensive.

    Not good!

I'm pretty sure he's dead, or soon will be.

Should I send the corpse to you so you can verify that he's been captured and is not longer a threat to the world?

Do as you want. Open the chase then. Get Hubby and Chewy on the case, I'm sure they'll do fine. I always do it with my dog and the rats around which pop their heads out from time to time in the yard get a hard time  :p

    How are you today?
I am working. I no longer have the kitty here. He got a new family yesterday. Kind of miss the little guy greeting me at the door every morning.

The hotness of summer is back after the few days of heavy rain... mosquitoes are back too. Getting homework... oh, I'm sort of hiking tomorrow. :)

Hiking? Where do you hike? I love hiking. I hiked a mountain once and the top was gorgeous.
  • Feb 6, 2010, 09:05 AM

Not real hiking... more like a walk in some quite rough terrain. We'll e visiting gorges, and will possibly go down a 45 degree slope. I did that once, it was hard!

Its still fun no matter what the hike is. I love nature. Until I come across a spider web in my face. Then its not fun and games any more.

I have to say I am sure where you are is like heaven to most of us here in the dead of winter. But I would take snow over all those bugs. Ugh I hate the darn things always buzzing and biting.

I still am waiting for some snow :D
