    NowWhat
Well, I feel the need to rant a little.
I told you guys yesterday that I am supposed to be going on a 3 week vacation -leaving tomorrow.
My husband just informed me that the plan that he had to pay for everything is not coming together.
So, we can't go. He is going to call his family and tell them we aren't coming. I still have to be in this wedding - so there is still that expense. I have to call my family and tell them we aren't coming - but we still have to pay for our part of the rental.

We were supposed to be leaving in less than 24 hours. How am I supposed to call everyone and say we can't come? He would like me to call my friend to say I can't be in the wedding, but that is a week away - how can I do that?
After the year we have had - I don't know how I am going to call my Mom and tell her this.
    I am totally shocked.
    Thanks for listening

Oh, NW, I am so sorry to hear you are not going on the vacation. I know you were looking forward to it. I really hate when things like that come unraveled at the last minute.

I was supposed to leave for home tonight but will not be able to get out until tomorrow. I have to fly standby so that I can fly cheap, really cheap, like $50, well, my plane in Houston is overbooked by 20, so 19 other people have a seat before me if others don't show up. I don't know anyone in Houston so I don't want to spend the night in an airport.

I will be leaving in the morning for a 12 hour flight, connections in Cleveland, Ohio, and Newark New Jersey, then finally home.

NW, rant all you want, that's what we are here for.

Oh nowwhat, I am sorry. Isn't there any way? I am so sorry! I wish I could send you a couple grand so you can have a great trip. I think your family has to know ASAP and you never know someone might be able to help, just maybe. I will pray for it! Hugs to you. You should definitely go to the wedding, tell your husband you just have to.

    NowWhat
I wish I could figure out a way - I wish I didn't have this hit me when I am supposed to be packing. I mean, this has been planned for a while and he said he would take care of everything.
It's our own fault. I guess I just didn't have a plan b. And you should always have a plan b.

I will have to suck it up and tell everybody. I just hate letting my family down.
He said he would try and think of something through the course of the day - but, I don't see how.

    It just really sucks!

I'm so sorry to hear that. There is nothing worse than plans falling apart at the last minute.

That really sucks and if you want to rant, then you have every right to. I wish I could just magically send you what you need. I really do. Do you think your mom could help or a family member until you get back to pay them back?

Now, slowly reach over to your monitor and turn it off, then slowly put your butt into gear, get out of the chair, pick up the phone and make some calls. When you get it all sorted out please come back and tell us what wonderful progress you made.

So... the big boss is getting married this afternoon. Everyone in the office except me and the 2 other people who answer the phones was invited, and one of the people that answers the phone left early.

So there are 2 of us in the office, here to answer the phones.

I'm annoyed, and I'm not really even sure why. It's not like I want to be at the wedding... just would have been nice to have the afternoon off, I guess.

You guys need and answering service, synnen. That's part of what the company I work for does. You could be home and my operators could be taking those annoying calls for you!

    Synnen
    I *am* the operator.

    /sigh

We have the phones forwarded at 5 PM, but I can't forward them early without authorization from higher up... and all the higher ups are at the wedding.

I thought about leaving work early to clean house today. Got stuck doing something else, but may still try to slip out.

Here in VA, it has been in the 60s the last 2 days. Sounds like our weather got switched, J.

J-9 I don't need to make any calls, I had to clean the bathroom and the whole house for that matter. The foster boys are leaving today and I figured I would get my crap done! Synnen, I hope your day gets better. My doors are open and I am listening to music, I am pretending I am cleaning your house. It is always easier to do others chores... I hope it looks good when you get home. I am gone again, continue on J_9.
