Ooh... if I get back to the office before we close today, I'll pick up my pirate picture and scan it... I dressed up as a full fledged pirate for Halloween.

A nun eh? Haha! Well if anyone could pull that off it would probably be you! ;) I have a friend here that does community theater, and she has played so many different characters. It's so much fun to watch her get into character. I can't remember who she played in the Rocky Horror Picture Show, but it was great!

Hahaha! You never know what will come out of my mouth with those extra shots! Could get scary. ;)

Oh no, just got a PM from the 12yr old girl. I soooo don't know what else to say to her, and I don't know if she's a troll or not. But I sure don't want to NOT answer her if her whole story is true. Urrghhh... what to do!?

The one that posted the boy/girl question? Oh boy... I don't know...

If it was me, I'd do like you said - trust until given reason to not... is there a way that you can cc a moderator on a PM?

    Sticky...

    DO NOT ANSWER PMS.

Tell them to repost their private message in the thread, as we have a policy at AMHD to ONLY answer questions publicly, in case misinformation is given, so that others can correct it.

NEVER answer a PM from someone with a question in it (unless it's your friend and they're asking you to go to drinks)

There you go, Starby... the answer.
  • Apr 28, 2008, 12:47 PM

She's not really asking a question. She told me where she is from because she didn't want it to be public. She implied a question though, asking why people aren't believing her. (not really asking, just saying she didn't know why.) I just would feel so bad if her whole story is actually true and no one believes her.

That was my only dilemna Synn. I've answered a few questions before I realized that I wasn't suppose to, so I'm more careful with doing that now.

Thanks Synn! I suppose this is my fault also, because I believe I did say that if she just needs to get her feelings out in private that she could PM me. It was late, and probably a lapse in judgement.

Starby bad! ;) I just hate hearing about young kids that are hurting, and I don't stop to think enough about the whole situation sometimes.

It is very sad, and you're sweet to care so much. To protect her (and yourself), Synn is right. Glad the girl has come here for help. She'll find it through advice given by people like you.

:) Okay... who wants to go for drinks now? I don't have time to send PM's to you. LOL!

Actually, I have to take off and get some work done... but I'll be back later of course!

Have a good afternoon all! :D

If you're really concerned about whether something is "real" and want it looked into, quietly PM one of the admins and ask whether there is anything they can check for you. Sometimes there is, sometimes there isn't--but most of the time you'll find they're already watching the question you're worried about.

With all due respect here if she is 12 years old do you honestly think its wise to be talking to her via a pm?? Think about it you could land yourself into hot water if her parents went investigating keep it all in the open if they won't post a thred then do it yourself have the sense to cover your rear.

    Hi all,

Starby, the question you were concerned about is already being looked in to, don't worry, if she's a fake the mod's will find out eventually. There are allot of inconsistencies with her posts, but I am choosing to continue to give advice based on what she has said, until it's proven to be false, even though I'm 75% sure it's not true, that's my gut speaking though.

How is everyone today? I had nutella, two heaping tablespoons of yummy creamy nutella. YUM.

Hey Synn, did you go back and see the pics? Starby is on, I am, HC is, Friend is, Resty is and Niki is (Starby's cute little pup).

Check them out if you have time.

What the heck is this "time" thing you speak of?

I wrote this horrendously long response to a person on the AS boards, and it took like... half my lunch.

I need a break so badly, and don't dare take one.

Currently at the library. Doing the studying thing. I just had my last college class of my entire life.. . granted, not my last class...

T- 1week until finals are over.

    T- 2weeks left until graduation.

T-5 years left until I'm done.

Eeks Alty... that's one distressed looking cat. I'm not sure which one I'd rather NOT have, haha.

Our little sneezy is growing up! Yay!

So, I didn't make it to the office... I'm definitely going to bring the pirate picture home tomorrow, unless I get a chance to scan it at work. You can all see my kickass sewing job, too... My mom made the shirt, but I made the vest and pants and sash and everything to go with it. Plus I had an eyepatch and sword. Booyah.

So. Women. I am requiring some assistance.

HBI-girl is acting flaky. This wouldn't be that big of a problem to me if I had more time. However, I have roughly 2 weeks. This is the current situation.

Last time we left off, I called her yesterday to see if she wanted to go to the movies. Her response was "yeah!"... 2 seconds later "wait, yes and maybe...my friends and I might go later tonight...but I'll let you know?"

So... that was how we left off. I assumed she'd call to let me know, but she did not. Last night, she was on Google chat, so I messaged her, but she immediately signed off... this obviously doesn't mean that saw my message and signed off, as it could mean that she just simply turned off her comp without checking her messages... not a big deal. As of today, she has yet to call or message me (she's currently on).

Usually, I wouldn't have any problems contacting her, but so far, I've contacted her every single time to go out somewhere, and I've made every move. Since we left off at "she'll let me know" my stubbornness is kicking in... my dignity following it.

Technically, I've already made my decision... which is, I'm not going to contact her until she makes some effort to contact me... as her actions indicate flakiness/fickle-ness... which I abhor. However, after talking to a female friend of mine, she says "it's normal...if I like a guy I don't EVER call him..." which I guess makes sense, but it's so backwards.

Alty? Synn? Starby? Care to chime in?

... y'know, by the time I'm 22, I thought I'd figure women out to a point... and I thought I have, but this one... can't read her. Drat.

Since she left off at "she'll let me know" I would leave it at that and wait for her to get back to you.

Sneezy, when you finally figure out women my hubby would like you to share the wisdom, he still hasn't figured them out.

Me personally, I never had a problem calling a guy and asking him out, if he said no, no problem, on to the next person on the list. It was a different time honey. ;)

Personally I think that not calling you is rude. If she had said "call me later and I'll let you know" then fine, but she told you she'd call and then didn't. Nope, not up to you, the ball is in her court for sure. I have to wonder though, if she's already playing games what will happen if you continue to see her? Just a thought. :)

Yeah... the thing is, she knows I'm attracted to her... there's no hiding that. The puppy-love crap is pouring out my eyes whenever I'm with her... not a chance she hasn't realized it.

The one thing is, she has never been in a relationship before (red flag?) as she likes to keep everyone as a friend.. . I immediately saw this as a challenge. I love challenges :)

Yeah, normally, as I said, I'd leave it to her to call, but again, I only have 2 weeks left.. . I don't think I'm going to "move on to the next one on the list"... but I'll give her until the end of this week. Her loss. (... too bad she's really really hot)
