Hey bella, apart from waiting for a call back I'm grand.

Stuck by the phone all morning.

    Pain in the buttocks.

Fancy coming over and helping me annoy them.. we could do a thelma and louise job on the place.make the evening news and get back in time for the school run.

Haha Red. I hate waiting for phone calls too. Never how I want to spend my day. I am picking up my foster dog today. Fingers crossed that her and Lady will get along. For the time being, I have my house divided and it looks like a boarding kennel. Smells kind of like one too :p

What phone call are you waiting for?

The feckers are just not responding,I'm getting pi$$ed off,I'm at home, its my day off and I've spent it chasing these people.

    <breathe>

I'm giving it until 1pm,if there's no response I'm going to assume there idiots, and go for a walk,at least get something out of the day.

Want me to send them an offer they can't refuse? Hehe Godfather moment, sorry.

I always get attached. But I can't afford to have another dog. And just helping her find a good home is rewarding enough. Very hard to say good bye, but sometimes they stay for a few months, and I get to spend a few months with another wonderful animal, knowing she was going to die just because of her breed, okay I know blah blah blah. Yes, it's very hard to see them go. I don't know how I do it. I'm actually playing hookie from school to go and pick her up, so shh. Don't tell anyone. :D

Walking is always a great way to clear the head.

They're not making a very good name for themselves are they?

    There a big company,they don't really care.

Good for you fostering the dog, what if you decide to adopt?

    What if she's a lunatic?

Can't help you Bella, although reading the recipes that others have posted was fun. I love Cats. You totally have to make his recipe. :)

I'm here, and there. Watching the food network. Think I am going to try dad's recipe. O.K so this is SO weird, and this stuff happens to me ALL the time, but right now on the food network, they are having a gumbo cook off.

Does that type of stuff happen to anyone else?
  • Sep 20, 2010, 04:51 PM
    Alty

    Hi Bear.

I don't watch the cooking network, it always makes me hungry, than I realize that I don't have the ingredients to make what they're making, and I'm sad. Then I go to the store, get the ingredients, come home and realize that I forgot what they did to make it.

    It never ends well. ;)

It just happened the other day. I was going to make scallops, and I turned on Top Chef to find a few of the chefs making scallops.

Mmm that's funny JLo, Iron chef is on now, and they are doing Halibut, but the challenger is a scallop master. He's making Sashimi (Spelling?) with the halibut cheeks and a scallop chowder. Mmmmmm

Alty, you can always look up the recipe again online...

    Hi bear, bye bear :(

    Hi bear, bye bear :(

I'm so hungry now. :o Tonight we're having pork chops, sauteed mushrooms, Swiss chard, and yams. I want it now! :D

I love swiss chard! Do you guys ever get fiddle heads out there? I don't know if they grow else where, but they are so common here in NS and New Brunswick. I love them.

No, I don't think we do. I had to Google them to see what they are.

I love Swiss chard also, and it's so good for you. We follow a book called The World's Healthiest Foods in deciding what to eat and how to cook it for the most part, and then we splurge a couple of times a week on something I have baked. :D

Can you send me a link for that book? Would love to get my hands on one. I suppose I could go to the book store and find something comparable.

This is the book. I love it.

Awesome! Thanks! :) wow $26.37, that's an expensive cook book. I wonder if that's in Canadian...

    Great link too.

I have spent hours on that link. It's very extensive, telling you all about nutrients of all the healthiest foods.

It's not really a cookbook. It's similar to the website, telling you about the best foods to eat. It will then give recipes of the healthiest way to cook many of the foods. It's a thick book. I thought it was well worth the price, but you'll be disappointed if you are looking for a cookbook.

That price is in American dollars.

I guess I used the wrong term... I knew it wasn't a cook book per say. But you it does sound like it's well worth it, especially if that type of cooking interests you (which it does).

I love cooking, I can be stressed to max, come home and look forward to cooking a huge complicated meal. I have no formal training, but my fathers daughter cooks at a 5 star restaurant, and he taught me the joy of cooking. Like taking the time to rinse and roast your rice before cooking.

I love watching the food network, and trying it out myself.

If I were you, I'd spend time looking at the website. If you love it the way I did, you'll want to buy the book.

I love to cook and bake. I don't have formal training either. My grandmother was a great cook, leaning on Italian dishes. I learned a lot from her. My mom wasn't a very good cook, so I'd cook meals when I was growing up. I made my first complete Thanksgiving dinner when I was 13, and after that my parents both wanted me to do all the holiday dinners. I thought it was fun... plus I thrive on compliments. :D

Hehehe me too Jlo. E's father is from Italy. My grandfather was a cook for the Navy, but when he retired, he opened his own restaurant. And he was an amazing cook.

I will definitely look at that site, I can see my buying that book.
