    I dislike Wuthering Heights

Why ? I thought it was an excellent novel, even the old movie, and the new one, and then old again, etc.

That is your prerogrative Princess but to give you a little history, emily bronte wrote that in a time (mid l800s) where just about everything was goth in victorian england. Queen victoria had lost Albert and plunged the whole of Britain into gothic stuff, I mean, it was really depressing. Everyone had to wear black because Victoria did.

It is and always will be a depressing movie that's why they can't re-invent it into our time. They tried a remake in l992 with ralph feinnes, didn't work.

The best one was in l939 with Merle Oberon and Lawrence Olivier.

It is absolutely goth at its best, luvvy, you are not expected to like it, but it is good literature. And is really only sought after for a really well written novel. Frankenstein was written about the same time and that was reallllllllllly depressing.

    Hugs

    I love Frankenstein!
I'm only through a few chapters of Wuthering Heights though, so far I dislike it.
But I will continue to read it and keep an open mind

Good for you princess and you can always seek out other novels by emily bronte, it really brings one back to victorian england, my favourite time.

Edit: victorian novelists of the time were actually very sincere in their depiction of the lost heroin, the wronged willful deprived woman. Don't forget too, that was the time of Jack The Ripper. I hate to say this but if you like Frankenstein, then you may like novels by H.P. Lovecraft (maybe not writing in Britain, he was American) who in the gothic horror genre really succeeded in scaring the pants of me !

Hey Tick as soon as she sends it, you will get it! Sometimes we talk daily sometimes a week or two passes, but she promised, that she would send it to be before it was added to petfinder.

Lives? What's that? Is it that thing where I rush home from work to feed my seven cats and sit on my couch with a computer in my lap until I go to bed and repeat it the next day?
