I know I am too sensitive and I take things to heart. I call it passionate. It's people like him who make me hug my dogs a little tighter at night, who make me feel good for what I do, but helpless at the same time. He makes me feel like we are fighting a loosing battle.

My heart is literally aching thinking of these dogs. :(

Come on Judy, we need you!!

Bella, I have no problem ripping people like him a new one, I am angry, and if I let that anger go that's when I feel the pain. I'd rather be angry than sad. At least I can direct my anger at the person that deserves it. Make sense?

The fact is, there are evil people out there, there are people that treat animals like they're nothing, not feeling, not living, not breathing beings. They are just tools for these people. But, there are also people that do everything they can to make the lives of the animals they touch better. People like you, like most of the people on this site.

Want to sleep better tonight? Look at the dog forums. Count the good and the bad. The good outnumber the bad. Yes, the bad still exists, but bit by bit we're making a difference just by educating people, just by doing what we do, even if we have to yell to do it at times, if even one person listens, it's worth it. It's worth it to fight for what you believe in. You may not always win, but if one person is affected, stops to think and changes their ways, than that's one less person on the bad side.

One at a time Bella. In the meantime, keep doing what you're doing and know that you make a difference in the life of every dog you meet. Hug yours a bit tighter tonight, and know that tomorrow you will save a life, you will make a difference.

Big hugs to you, Lady, Max and little E too. Now I'm going to do a group hug with my dogs, bunnies, bird and I may even let the fish nibble on my fingers.

Should be an interesting picture, me holding back three dogs, trying to prevent them from eating 4 bunnies, all with a bird on my head and my finger in a fish tank. :p

    LOL!

    Indy
    Jasper
    Chewy
    Cotton
    Thumper
    Oreo
    Kilala
    Martie
    Goldie
    Fang
    And the mice.

Did I tell you that I'm now bringing them into the garage? Ya, I know. I set up traps in the house because I can't have them in here, they destroy everything, poo on everything, and even though I hate to kill them, they breed like bunnies, and they have to go.

But, the ones in the garage, I can't kill them. Well, apparently the neighbors also have mice, and a litter was born in the bushes between our property. Well Syd comes running inside one day "mommy, mommy, there's a baby mouse outside and it can't really walk, and it keeps falling over and it's so little and you have to help it!"

If you've ever looked into my daughter's eyes you know that I can't say no. After all, she gets her love of all living things from me, so how can I refuse? So I put on rubber gloves, go get the baby (and it's a very young baby mouse, there are two dead ones beside it, so mommy is gone), put it in a bucket with water, food, a blanket for warmth, and tell Syd that's the best I can do. Of course the poor thing dies, but the next day she finds 2 more! I end up bringing them in too.

So R gets back from work, sees the bucket on the table, is about to put it on the ground and I yell "No! Leave it on the table or the dogs will get it". R just stares at me. Who cares if the dogs get the bucket? But there are baby mice in it!

He just starts laughing. He looks at me and says "only you would do this. You do realize we kill the ones in the house, right?" My response "That was your idea, I wanted to trap them humanely and release them. Besides, these aren't in the house, they're in the garage".

I may have lost my mind. :(

I just thought I'd post some of the pictures from Carolyn's wedding. Some of you will remember that Carolyn was my roommate, and first posted on here with a question about her then boyfriend. This is the man she married on Saturday. Carolyn was also the person who came here to tell you about what happened to me last year, and the one who took such good care of me. I've known her for 24 years now. She's a great friend and person.

Carolyn and her sister, the Maid of Honor:

Thanks. Well, that's not entirely my hair. :D Carolyn and I both have shoulder length hair, but she wanted hers long for the wedding and asked if I'd do the same. Why not! I love playing around with different looks.

PS - Congrats on the baby girl. I'm sure she'll be as beautiful as her mother.

Those 20 days will fly by. Before you know it you'll be a Mrs, not a Miss. :)

This is all bringing back memories. R and I were engaged for 18 months before we got married. I remember the stress of planning, the excitement as it came nearer. I remember running around like crazy the day before, picking up the wine, the cake, making sure everything was paid for and set.

If I can give you any advice, it's this. The day of your wedding, just enjoy. If something is forgotten, it's not needed. If something gets broken, laugh about it. If the love of your life pushes cake in your face when you cut the cake, grab him by the back of the head and shove his face right in it. :)

Take lots of pictures, notice every little thing, but most of all, have fun. You only get married the first time once. ;)

Good advice. :) There's no way he'll shove cake in my face, though. That's one of the things I love about him - how respectfully he treats me. He'll be all class.

    Hate that.

Try thinking about your day backwards, try and remember the details.

Or if there is something bothering you, write it down, make a plan.

Or get up and so some ironing, really puts you into a frame of mind of... anything but that!

    How did caroline's wedding go?

Ironing? I can't even remember the last time I ironed something.

I usually read or watch a little TV. I'll be up for 1-2 hours before I get sleepy again.

I visited him a couple of weeks ago and he was the best I've seen him in years. His wife's son and daughter, plus her two young kids, are temporarily living with them. I think maybe he feels needed. He spends a lot of time with the kids. He's also working on the album, as you suggested.

I think he's looking forward to the wedding. He's a little nervous about dancing with me, though. I'll just have to make sure he's had a couple of glasses of champagne first. :D

Sounds like he's a lot better.

Having kids around will certainly keep him on his toes, and sure, don't we all want to feel needed.

Can I ask what song you have picked for your first dance?

Someone Like You - Van Morrison

You probably remember I was having a hard time with the Father/Daughter dance song, which I'm dancing partly with my grandfather and partly my uncle. We decided on First Time Ever I Saw Your Face. It was my uncle's suggestion. He said my parents played it at their wedding for their first song. I'm going with the Leona Lewis version, though.

We are also playing Moondance. Love that song. Yes, just 19 more days now.

I tried to know that many times, but then the next hit would come. I think I went into protection mode, not wanting to get hurt again. Still, considering everything, I think I stayed pretty optimistic... and I got really lucky.

A bit of luck does not go astray when things are looking rough.

I think its more then being optimistic, its inner strength.

I believe its in everyone,at least for those once in a lifetime when things go terribly wrong, and for most, once in a lifetime is enough to know that it is there.

    You did it,you made it.

As bad and horrific as that time was, it is also a beacon of your strength, you should be very proud of yourself.

    I appauld you.

Thanks, Red. I wish I had found this site after my parents died. I think a lot of things would have been different. Still, in the end, everything is as it should be. What happened also showed me the strength that John has.

Okay, I'm getting tired, so I'm going to try and get some more sleep. It was really nice talking to you. :)
