Since my attempsts at unsubscribing didn't work... I'll tell you all what is in the air as hheath said.. I received a pm from scott gem reprimanding me and joe and Heath like five year olds about the post whether the woman was being mentally abused.. Because I gave Hung a ready when he told her to stay. If I can't give good advice and disagree with a prick

Don't take it too personally. We did stretch the rules a bit. He is enforcing the letter of the law, and we were obeying our understanding of the spirit of the law. Just take it as a learning experience. If you're not sure if you'll get in trouble for giving a reddie, just respond to the post instead. They'll still see it, and you'll still have your say.

The reddie wars are always detrimental to everybody concerned. This wasn't the first one. I stick to the rule that unless there's a fact in dispute I just answer.

You, Joe, and Health give good sound advice. You know it and so does everybody else. :)

I agree with Hhealth, just don't give a reddie if you are concerned of getting in trouble again. I disagree with responding to the post.

Believe me, kit, I agree with you whole heartedly. There were a couple people in that thread I wanted to smack senseless. It's hard knowing that all you can do is say your piece and hope it gets heard. It's even harder when you have someone set on not only contradicting you, but insisting that everything you KNOW and FEEL about the situation is wrong.

The problem isn't about getting reddies, it's about giving them according to the rules.

If we don't follow the rules, all of us, then the site turns into Yahoo answers where even an old sailor like me can learn new things about being cussed at.

I don't know what the PM said, but I looked over that thread and the reddie war was what struck me. Scott normally doesn't take issue with content.

What Kitty had to say was appropriate, if not too mild. I hope we can all still try to help people like that poor kid, but we need to follow the rules.

Kit, I think you misunderstood Scott.

You can disagree, you have every right to post and state your opinion. What you cannot do is give someone a reddie for their opinion, even if you don't agree.

We can't go around admonishing others about the misuse of reddies and then stretch the rules to accommodate us.

I agree with your advice, I agree that the OP in that thread should leave, and I know you're passionate about it, as are many others. You can back up your opinion with facts, which you all did by posting links to sites and sharing your own experiences. The thing is, the whole thread turned into a war between a few people and the OP was forgotten, it was a debate about who's right and who's wrong. Helping the OP was lost in the battle. That's just my opinion.

Getting a reprimand is a badge of honor. If I had a dime for every time Scott had to tell me to cool off, I could buy a coffee... at Starbucks! ;)

Take a few days, cool off, re-read what Scott wrote, PM him and talk to him about how you feel. I can tell you right now that Scott is an extremely fair mod, a good person, and he doesn't reprimand people without a lot of thought.

Maybe next time, when you're emotions are running high on a thread, just walk away for a bit, come to the chat thread and vent, then, when you're calmer, go back and post.

I think the problem was, the thread went on and on, and no resolving, even with what Kit and JesusHelper posted. It was constant, bang, bang... HungToronto wasn't listening, disagreeing, so where would all of that gone ? Isn't it best that its gone now and no more constant badgering.

Alty is right, you have to think think think before you press that button again and submit a response; Scott is a really fair person, Kit. You have to get by this, right now. Put your anger down. You will feel better in the long run. HungToronto is gone now.

For a while I had an animated avy of a cute little bunny wiggling it's butt. Everyone said it's tail looked like a carrot. Then the sexual jokes of a carrot sex toy started.
