Morning unky, the clocks went back last night, daylight savings time.

I feel like its later in the day then it actually is.

Takes a few days to adjust.

Hey I am here. Just finishing up some bacon for breakfast and I have to go get some meds for Gavin. We were in the ER yesterday with him.

Sounds like your going to have a nice day. Lucky!

    Shaz,can I get a little dog advice..

Peader is fast becoming a little tyrant around other people and the kids.. he will only obey me,and only come when I call his name..

He is nipping and pulling clothes, stealing, and general bad behaviour when I'm not around to correct him.

He's quite a smart dog for his age, any suggestions?

The kids are used to dogs and follow up on commands, but he just ignores them.

Well all of a sudden Friday night he started with a low fever, which never worries me. But then after he was in bed he came to me and it had spiked so high. Still no worry I can handle it. Well it would go up and down but then he started with this cough that was so bad. I waited it out and he was laying on the couch sleeping yesterday afternoon and breathing so hard. I check his temp and its like 104.3. I call the doctor and they said to bring him in. Its not the flu he just has some bug in his chest and with his allergies his breathing can get bad. But his fever is down now to an OK level with me. We just have to work on his cough.

    Join the club red.

Mine always ignore Vaughn and only listen to me lol

I would try getting the kids involved in training.
Get them to (one at a time) train Peader basic commands (ya know, sit, stay, drop etc)

That is how we got ours to listen to Vaughn more (they are getting there slowly), he got more involved in the training to show that he was the boss as well as me.

As for the nipping and pulling clothes get them to do the "Ouch!" method, even if it doesn't hurt.
Get them to say "Ouch!" really loud and high pitched and stand up and ignore him, leave the room if they have to so he gets the idea that biting and pulling is bad.

    Poor kid :(

At least his fever is down though so he would be feeling better, even if he does have the cough.
Hope he gets over it all soon though.

I have to say this because it cracked me up. I am in the ER. There were two people there throwing up waiting to get in. One was so sick she was just crying so hard. Of course there were others. Then an ambulance pulls in with an emergency. I sit there and watch this couple walk in, mind you they didn't look all the bright. So her problem was she is a week late with her period, she took a test and its positive, she wants to know if she is pregnant. Oh my god! I seriously did start laughing. The lady at the desk just had this tone like she wanted to tell them to get the hell out. I so thought of the threads on here.

So any hoot, breakfast is done I need to get showered and to the pharmacy for his medicine. Catch you guy later.

I had this random thought just now... no words from Chey in a long time!! Hope she is well.

OK dudes be bad and dirty. Got to run.

Poor gavin and poor you,the joys of being a parent sunny!

Thanks shaz, the little fecker is as good as gold for me, its like he has put himself on a par in the pecking order with the kids, and not below them...

They think my training methods are cruel because he is so young, but he's a big dog at 5 months and getting bigger,he if does not learn now, teaching when he's older will be harder.

(by the way they consider 'cruel' not letting him do what he wants because he is still a pup!)

Yes Chey has been missing for quite some time now :(

And OMG I would have laughed at that girl too, it sounds like she might have been a poster in the pregnancy board here :D

    Anyhoo, cya later Sunny!

Nope, at 5 months he needs to learn his place, not cruel at all!
Show dogs learn their place and what is expected of them by 3 months old when they have their first show.

He would no doubt see the kids as his 'litter mates' rather than his masters, if you don't get a handle on that it could get scary!

    Don't talk to me!

On one hand they call me cruel,on the other they complain he is jumping up and nipping...

Time to train the kids and the dog..

    Thanks for the advice shaz.

Sunny, I hope Gavin gets better quickly.

Shaz, your pups sound like our Rissa. She actually looks at me when someone else gives her a command. Like I am going to get her out of sitting. I have taken to ignoring her when someone else gives her a command.
