Hey there Joe! Well my fur babe got attacked by an Akita, and it's kind of a sticky situation because it happened at a friends home. I had to call the emerg vet at 3am last Sunday, and she was rushed into emerg surgery and had 86 stitches, and her whole poor little body is all bruised, so they had to shave her and she looks like a little pink piggey ;)

I called Bylaw enforcement the other night, and I knew the officer. He told me it was better to call in the day so they could get pics. I've been waiting, and called 3 times now, and no one has shown up... Grrrrr

My poor pup isn't herself anymore! :( She jumps at every little sound, and every move made... it's heartbreaking!

That is heartbreaking. Yes that is a very sticky situation, but things have to be taken care of right. Hope that your pup heals up fast and eventually will get back to normal.

Thank you! :) I sure hope she isn't permanently damaged by it, for sure! I had to take her to the vet again today because I can't get her to eat or drink. She is normally so energetic and loves her treats and her toys, but now she sleeps for hrs on end and just looks so sad. But yes, as you said... hopefully she will get past this and get back to her normal silly little self!

Awww, Starby, I am sorry sweet little Niki does need to get better. Give the babe some time to heal and as long as you are there helping, I just know Niki will get better. Sorry Starby, I really am sorry you both have to go through this! :)At least you have each other:)

I called the police dept again, and was put on hold for almost 45 minutes, after waiting close to 8 hrs for them to show up from the first call,. and they told me that they just couldn't send anyone at this time of night!! Uhmmm, geee,. do they realise that's why I called during the day?

Now they said I have to wait until Monday! (well either that, or I could've stayed awake until the next shift starts at 6am... yup... sure) I didn't know you had to give the police 24 hrs notice if you needed someone to show up?!

I'm sooo sorry y'all, I just went on another rant again. Just so frustrating!

Well, Starby, you just brightened my morning a bit, lol. Really! I have been thinking that Niki was your daughter. So, in a way, I am glad you went on your rant last night. I was attacked by a dog when I was 14, and have been imagining a child with bruises and bites all over.

Starby, this was not the first thing I read this morning, I actually sat here proud and astonished this morning reading another thread. But I got my coffee and I am wishing you the best of everything today, I hope Niki feels better soon, and I hope you get a nap in.
RP... so sorry love, but as I know it Niki is Stary's life, so it wouldn't be a longshot to say daughter... I thought I could be alone a little today, but things never seem to work out ho I think they are going to. AND I have to wok on Mothers Day, for some reason I didn't even think about taking that day off, I never had to worry about it before. This sucks but I am all right... Maybe I will bake and clean my house... Hugs and love...

Starty's right... Niki is like my daughter! I don't mean to compare her to a human child, but to me she's the next closest thing! She is the sweetest little girl, and wouldn't hurt a fly... in fact if given the chance she would bat it around to play with it! LOL! She plays with the teeny little kitty next door, and it's so cute to watch seeing as Niki is 20 times the kitty's size, and has probably 35lbs on her. I rescued her 1 day before she was to be put to sleep, so I guess I'm extra protective of her. I just hate seeing her little pink piggy body,. shaved, bruised, and with 86 stitches.

Anyway, I won't go on again, most everyone knows the story, and I don't want to depress anyone! ;)
