Ok all you décor experts how about some suggestions for colours for my hall, stairs and landing. I'm still filling cracks in and sanding so not been for any paint yet. I'll be getting a new carpet so there's no restrictions on matching to anything. Any ideas?

I even did some plastering for the first time and I'm pretty pleased with the results, but I've no idea what colour I fancy.

As tempting as that is, I'm not sure it's doable. I will, however, be washing smaller items (like bras, panties, and some of my shirts) in the sink. The less money I have to spend on laundry, the better.

    Sounds good heath.

Q I would be the wrong person to ask. I have bold tastes when it comes to paint.

What colors do you like? Earth tones, cool tones? I've always been partial to sky blue or a blue-green in the bath room with the dark accents.

Kind of like the pics below.

If there are windows that let in a lot of natural light, then a light yellow will amplify the light and make the space seem roomier.

The light comes from bulbs, then a light blue will accomplish the same thing. Just try to stay away from the powder blues, as they can get overwhelming and candy-like over large areas.

Greens can be touchy, and will look sickly in the wrong light.

You could always go for bold and use a bright, vibrant color. Think little kids' crayon box.

Heath, I found one of those old school washer and ringer dryer at this yard sale, I paid like $2 for each. I wash all my socks and underoo's in there, plus E's clothes too. All I need now is a butter churn.:cool:

having never had the option of choosing colors for my walls, I haven't spent a great deal of time thinking about it. I know a few basic guidelines, but it's hard for me to imagine how most colors will look on walls.

someday, I want to have a 'striped' wall. I'll start with a light base, probably yellow. From there I'll have 10-12 little containers of paint with a brush in each one. I'll pick up a brush at random and swipe it across the wall at random. Repeat until it looks done.

a couple years back I helped splatter paint a wall. It was fun. We just poured paint into our hands and threw it at the walls ^_^

I've always wanted to learn how to churn butter. And weave fabric. And spin yarn.

I think it would be amazing to be able to take raw fiber and turn it into a finished blanket, or something.

Someday, I will build my own loom.

I just looked, I was trying to find one that showed the color of my walls. I guess the best one is the ones labeled Christmas Tree.

this is my living room. It's just a happy coincidence that the furniture goes so well. The couch and loveseat, end tables, and console came from different places, and just happened to match each other AND the room ^_^

Yes, but it's a warm brown. And very 60's. I love it.
