I thought so to at first, but I'm inclined to take it seriously because of the way she tells her story. I hope it's not made up, and I hope it is, because if it isn't then that girl is in for a lifetime of pain and suffering, mentally and physically. Until it's proven to be false I'm going to respond, even though I have no idea what to say to her, not only because she's young but because there's an obvious language barrier and childlike quality that most 12 year olds no longer have. Man I hope you're right Sneezy, because that story is sick and twisted if it's true.

How are you sweetie? How's little Lily? How's HBI girl? ;)

Lily's good... she's just sniffing around like always.

HBI... I'm not sure. Continue to get mixed responses. I'm actually a little nervous about asking her to the movies, although I shouldn't be. I've never felt nervous about a girl before in my life... is this how regular guys feel?. because that stinks.

Hee, hee, are we a singing group now? Speaking of which, were's Guy lately, I haven't seen him around in a long time. Hopefully it's because he's out and about doing teen stuff.

Sometimes nervous is a good sign, does she make your heart go pitter pat or your palms get all sweaty? You shouldn't be nervous, just be yourself and relax honey. Easy for me to say huh, I haven't "dated" in 18 years, yikes.

Has she met Lily? Dogs are a great ice breaker and a great judge of character. :)

She hasn't met lily... in fact, she's allergic to a lot of things.. dogs... cats... pollen... certain types of foods... etc. I strongly doubt lily's a good judge of character... she's a bit of an attention whore.

She doesn't make my heart go pitter... but she makes me think too hard into what I say... how I say it... what I tell her... etc.

For instance, I'm going to ask her to the movies this week, it's about our... 3rd... 4th date or whatnot, and I'm STILL nervous about it.
  • Apr 27, 2008, 10:18 AM
    Alty
I guess I have to ask, are you dating her with the hopes that this might turn into something permanent, or is it just for a bit of fun? If it's just for fun, then maybe that's why you're nervous.

Quick story. Before I met my husband I dated a really nice Italian guy, he treated me wonderfully, was super nice and handsome, I thought there might be something there. We had been dating for around 6 months before I invited him to my parents house. He walked in and my poodle Silver ran up and started barking his little head off. My boyfriend turned to Silver, smacked him on the butt and told him to Shut up. I turned to him and said "get out!" That was the end of that.

When hubby came over the first time, he came in the house, went up to Silver, accidentally stepped on his paw, picked him up to cuddle him and say he was sorry and then ended up with a poodle on his lap for the entire visit, that's when I knew he was a keeper.

    Just saying. :)

    Haha, understood.

Well, if logistics worked out, I would love to have this go somewhere, but we graduate in 2 weeks, she's moving as she has a job up north, while I stay down here for work... so it seems highly unlikely.

    Alty
Hee, hee, I've got a past life story for every occasion, don't I?

If she's moving then I guess the decision is being made for you. I truly believe in fate, if it's meant to be it will, you just have to wait and see.

As for being nervous, women find that endearing, at least most women do, it shows your sensitivity and makes us feel special, so no worries.:)

    ISneezeFunny
Really? I'm not a huge believer of fate... I always believed I made my own luck controlled my own life. Just talked to my roomie about this... I was a bit worried as to calling her next (when... what should I say... etc. *note... I've NEVER been worried about these things before in my life, so this is kind of weird)

He looks at me, replies:... this girl's got you bad...
  • Apr 27, 2008, 10:39 AM
    Alty
Well I would agree with your roomie, obviously there's something about her that you have never experienced before, because, like you said, you've never been nervous with other girls. It could just be attraction, it could also be that you are intimidated by her, only you know for sure sweetie.

As for fate and controlling you own life, I believe in both, if that's possible. I do believe that we largely decide what happens in our lives and that those decisions effect our lives either negatively or positively, but I also believe in fate. I once said to hubby that I wish I could go back in time and change some of the decisions I made, I would do things differently. He looked at me and said "Why? Everything you've done has lead you right here, and changing even one thing might mean that you and I would not be together." I thought about it and he's right. Am I making any sense?

LOL, Alty! It's funny how many life stories we all have isn't it? I used to get annoyed when I was young, when the "older" people would say to me... I've got a story for that! Now I'm that "older" person who HAS a story for that... LOL! Funny how that works eh? ;)

I absolutely agree with what your husband said. Could NOT agree with him more.

I often have friends who regret what they did... etc... and I always look at them and say, "...if you hadn't made that choice, you could be a rickshaw driver in beijing for all you know..."

... the butterfly effect... don't underestimate it...

It's true, and sad. I actually told me kids the other day that they were lucky that they got to take the bus to school, I had to ride my bike. Yikes, next I'll be saying that I walked to school, 10 miles there, 12 miles back, up hill both ways in 10 feet of snow. Have I become old? Say it isn't so! ;)

Alty, if all that the little girl from the other post is saying is true then that is horrible, disgustingly horrible! And my heart goes out to her. ANY man or boy that does this to a girl or woman deserves the worst our society can deliver to him! One one ever has the right to assert themselves upon another person in this manner.

However, maybe it is only me, but I detected that something may not be exactly right here, I too am confused a little. I can't put my finger on it, maybe the grammar, the way it was presented, not sure? I am probably wrong, but usually I can sense these things. It seemed like it was written by someone with more education but trying to "dumb down." I hope I am incorrect...

Thanks Sneezy. I'm glad that he feels that way, because let's face it, I made allot of bad choices when I was younger, allot of them. He's right though, they lead me to him, so something good came out of it. I wouldn't trade him in for the world, Vin Diesel maybe, but not the world. KIDDING! ;)

I agree, and I am skeptical too, but I need to give her the benefit of the doubt, just in case it's true. I can't explain why, I just have to. If she's lying then she's only hurting herself, but if it's the truth then she needs all the help she can get. I hope I'm not having the wool pulled over my eyes, I really do, because this kind of abuse is nothing to lie about, that's why kids are afraid to tell if something bad happens, enough kids lie that the ones telling the truth are sometimes not believed. Maybe that's why I have to believe until proven otherwise, but I do understand what you are saying, because I sense it too.

I was her in allot of ways, not to that degree, but still I went through something that changed my perception of myself and changed my life forever. I will give her advice with a bit of skepticism, because if it turns out she's lying to us then she will have my full wrath to deal with. Wow, Alty, calm down.

    Love you Stringer :)

Maybe Lily and Niki should have a time out together! Witholding treats from Nik isn't going to help me though... she is giving me dirty looks and won't take the treat I tried to give her... and she doesn't even want her fave ball! Who knows what her prob is!

Hm. Did you ignore niki and replace her with someone else for a little bit? Lily gets VERY aggressive when I bring a girl over... even for a movie! If the girl sits down to watch the movie, lily's all over her... she'll put her nose under the girl's leg to try and wedge her out of the couch!

We should get all the dogs together, Indy will put everyone in their place, he's old and wise. Jasper will teach everyone how to get into trouble, that little stinker, and I mean that literally, the gas that comes out of the dog, Phewww!

I've got to run for a bit all, time to play with my rug rats and dogs and other fur babies. Take care my extended family, what would I do without all of you? Don't answer that, I don't want to know, I can't even imagine, nope, not going to think about it! ;)

I agree Starby, I agree... a troll would be better than the actual thing.

But even with that (a Troll) what does this say about people like this? What a sick, sick mind that needs one h*ll of a lot of help and quickly. To even be thinking these kind of thoughts... could possibly lead to being or becoming a predator.

Maybe my mind is working overtime, but in either case, this disgusts me at a very deep level.

No, I don't know what she's so pissed about! I put her outside this morn, and when she wants to come in she scratches at the door and I let her in. I didn't hear her scratch, and figured she was basking in the sun, (it's been awhile since she has been able to do that) so I just left her. I let her in and that's when the dirty looks started flying! Maybe she thinks I should have been out playing. We will go out and play ball this afternoon... if she gets over her little hissy fit. LOL!

Well, all that bragging I did about Spring finally coming to Chicago last week... well forget it. The last three days have been cloudy, very windy, very humid, and very rainy. I think I may even go in the sun room and turn on that "sun lamp" that we use for the plants... anything! Or... it hasn't rained in the last couple hours, so maybe I'll get a chance to use my new lawnmower (it's a beauty... he he). Something!!
