    Myth
I would take being a homemaker any day over working in retail this time of year and I truly feel for the people behind the counters that are working their butts off that have to put up with everyone's bad attitude for a check that doesn't amount to anywhere near the pay they should get for putting up with the public pms. I think the men are the worst about it though... they are soooo inpatient

I couldn't go back to it EVER the thought of dealing with the arseholes and listening to everybodys woes that they all think are special and one off when in honesty there all the flipping same would probably send me to an early grave, the pub was different if they annoyed you too much you just got drunk lol

Lol... Oh god how I hated being in management this time of year. Not like you had enough to worry about with just the idiots that came in looking for something the store didn't carry but then you have the employees all screaming and getting under your skin too.

Yeah last retail place I worked was a paper based business sold books stationary and music it was living hell at christmas but I was lucky I dealt with the stock control so I didn't actual have face to face contact with the land of the living dead.

    I feel sorry for Nos.

He's not management, but he is a supervisor in retail.

He'll be working 70 hours this week, just to keep up with the demand of customers.

This is just a shock... we have NEVER had this problem before. Thank God the bank that we bank with knows us and is honoring and paying all the checks because they know we are good for it.

But the stress of this last semester, the stress of the new shop, the stress of higher costs of living and no pay raises has really gotten to us.

I am now dying to start that new job more than ever, but all of the people who are to schedule me for my physicals, orientations at 2 different hospitals, are all out sick. Second week in a row.

Heck, I hardly even know how to balance a checkbook. OMG, I just want to sleep till it's over.

The more I look through here, the more I find out hubby was not wrong in recording the checks, just disorganized.

I just can't figure out how it happened. Guess, I'll go make a deposit in a few, keep some cash, and not use the checkbook for a few weeks to make sure everything clears. I'm able to account for EVERYTHING, but can't figure out where the NSF is coming from.

    Oh, my brain hurts.

Yeah, right!! NOT!!!!! I wish, but I know that's not the case. We don't spend on each other for Christmas, at least not until next year.

What was it? Did you figure it out?
  • Dec 18, 2007, 03:19 PM

Nope still haven't figured out exactly where it occurred, still got to work on that. However, the bank is supposed to send us NSF slips when one occurs, they have a new employee (well, she's been there a month), and she conveniently forgot, or did not do her job, the NSF slips are sitting on her desk 400 miles from here in their home office.

Well, I don't know if she has a job or not, but we got our money back, and even funnier, we got invited to their Christmas Open House tomorrow. LMAO, I about fell on the floor when they invited me.

It was freaking weird I tell you!! I NEVER knew a bank to give back money... NEVER

Now, I won't use the account until after the 1st of the year, only 4 checks left to clear, and see if their balance matches up with mine, then start all over again brand new. Cash baby, cash!!

I'm really still in shock over the whole thing. I mean really I am. I have never heard of such a thing. I went there after picking the kids up from school, and wam bam thank you ma'am, that is what I was told.

Now, mind you, I am not going to rely on this, made a deposit just the same, so we will see what transpires over the next few weeks.

I've been banking there for 7 years, with only one bounced check, that was covered within hours of finding out. My home loan is through them, my home equity loan is through them, and the van (now paid off) was through them.

It's funny, they know me by name and when I go in once a month (we are paid monthly) they have all the paperwork out and ready to get done. It's a small town bank, only one branch, but I love it.

Well the good thing about small town banks is that you don't become just another number with them. J it looks like snow outside what do you think?

It was sprinkling when I went to the bank... looked like snow all day, but I doubt it will happen...

Not until January 14 when I have to drive 50 miles to school.

J_... so glad things worked out for you - little town banks can be of benefit.

Hey Myth.. how are you and the babes doing?

CBW, you are right.. better financial breathing does help one sleep a lot better too.

Good Night all, time for my nap - seems like I need several per day now, but Larry sure loves it. Good thing I have my laptop near, so when I wake up, it's ready to keep me in touch with my family and friends. I think I overdid it playing a Christmas hidden objects game - just had to find all them 'pretties'!

    C.U.later!
